When Chandrayan was launched, there were lot of hype flying around in media and nationalism was attached to it and Madhavan Nair became instant household name. Here are facts about ISRO and Madhavan Nair Achievements,
If the space projects(mainly satellite launching) are outsourced, then govt would save more than 60 percent of the cost involved, 99 percent works are outsourced to foreign consultancy. Chandrayan pay-load was that of John Hopkins University nothing of ISRO was there in Chandrayan. ISRO funded this Chandrayan for the benefit of US universities. That's the irony, a poor country's tax payer's money used to fund US university, This is Madhavan Nair's achievements. Most satellites, launch vehicles are also outsourced, only one man from ISRO behaves everything is done by him even though he contributes nothing.
ISRO should be abandoned, enough of pride and we can smartly outsource our work and get them done very cheaply.
What are the outcome of Chandrayan, Mr. Nair? He has no answer b'cos it was a flop, some thing achieved by Chandrayan is known to only John Hopkins University, for which ISRO has no access!
Govt. has found prime-facie evidence that Nair had mislead many agencies to allot spectrum to his pvt. friend and minted money. This scam is several million dollar one.
Madhavan Nair's family and relatives income/assets should be probed b'cos Nair wore 4 hats namely, Space Commissioner, ISRO Chief, Scientific Advisor and as Director(Satellite Communication) and finally awarded the contract to ex-ISRO employees and friends of himself. There were no autioning/advertisement. There is more muck than what is allegded.
Finally the nail has fallen on Madhavan Nair's coffin, Kerala govt should be ashamed to stand by corrupt person like Nair.
I urge GOI and Radhakrishnan to work towards closure of ISRO, which is ONLY a trademark of pride with full of gas in it.
John Hopkins University and NASA had jointly put their moon probe on Chandrayan, ISRO had no access to data from the probe!
Probe crash landed onto moon surface in Nov2008, John Hopkins University & NASA came to know the water content on Moon in Nov2008 itself. ISRO had no clue about it
When NASA made it public in Sept 2009, publicity monger Nair the liar took media beside him and became a great figure as if he is behind the discovery of water on moon surface.
The Devas-Anthrix deal has brought out the real achievements of Nair. Nair mislead even PMO about the deal and he misused the trust of GOI in him by dealing with private company, the scam which is valued at Rs.2000 crores. That money can be used to launch atleast 1/2 dozen satellites.
Nair has been banned after two high level committees have found glaring mistakes of omission and commission by Nair and 3 other scientists.
Mr. Nair should return all his awards he received from GOI, he used all these awards and appreciation to finally cheat PMO/GOI to the tune of 2000 crores.
Madhavan Nair is just a science graduate who manged to get dozens of Honorary Doctorates mainly from Kerala universities. Madhavan Nair has tarnished ISRO's image and now all ISRO's achievements will be under scanner.
While Nair is begging govt. to restore so called'lost prestige', there are other third class scientists like Anil Khakodkar and CNR Rao backing the tainted Nair.
While poor dalits are manually scavenging like animals in the era of IT, our scientists are fascinating about what is on moon, Shame on scientific community who are backing Nair.
All the scientific community should condemn Nair's role to put Rs.2000 crore hole in GOI's pocket. Nair deserves to be behind bars.
Shame on Kasturirangan, Anil Kakodkhar, CNR Rao, Roddham Narasimha, and many other so called emminent scientists are shamelessly backing Rs.2, 00, 000 crore in the name of HONOR. A petition should be moved in SC to prosecute all these so called eminent scientists for misleading public and government by issuing press brief to make believe that Nair is innocent. Shame on these eminent scientists, who have done nothing to science & technology. At the end of their life they get all awards, concessions, sites & privileges.
