India secures a historic victory in South Africa.
Congratulation to Indian team on winning a historic test match at the Wanderers, wrapping up a comprehensive 123-run victory on the fourth day of the first Test.
Finally India played some extraordinary cricket in South Africa to beat them on this tour.
India Inning 1: 249-10
India struggle against pace barrage but few encouraging partnerships took India to reach total of 249 runs. Ganguly played well welcome back dada.
SA Inning 1: 84-10
Indian bowlers dismantling a powerful batting line-up in just 25 overs. Sreesantha and Zaheer bowled beautifully to destroy and restrict South Africa to 84 runs. SA wickets knocked out one after another like bowling pins…. Such a shame South Africa ;-)
India Inning 2: 236-10
With the massive lead of 165 runs India started their second inning and showed some resistance in batting, Laxman and Zaheer fought back and pushed the total to reach 236 runs. Total lead of 401 which looked nearly impossible for SA.
SA Inning 2: 278-10
South Africa needed 402 runs to win. It was too much for SA to chase they got all out on 278 runs on the fourth day of the test match. Sreesanth and Zaheer took early wickets and then Kumble cleaned up the tail of the SA.
Now the best part of the match when Sreesanth came to bat. South African fast bowler welcomed him with an average bouncer, and not too surprisingly, walked right up to him and started a bombard of words. He kept pointing to his heart as Sreesanth, who was clearly not happy with Nel he ignored him. Eventually Nel went back for the next ball, thinking he had done enough to unsettle him. Sreesanth simply took one step forward and clouted him over long on for a SIX. Hurray!!!! He ran all the way to the other end even as Nel looked on incredulously; and almost hilariously as Sreesanth reached him, he started twirling his bat. Nel moron walked away shamefaced as the entire stadium erupted, appreciating the young pacer’s courage and immediate response. (see video)
Sreesanth won the Man of the Match award for his brilliant performance with the ball. He took 8 wickets in 35 overs.
It was a spectacular and satisfying performance by Team India to win first ever Test Match on South African soil. This win will definitely boost the Morale of team. Best of luck team India for rest of the series.
