It was a good positive thinking to prepare a team for cricket world cup. But we should also realize that World cup is just another tournament which comes once in every four year. We have so many other tournaments and series
which also need to be won. By preparing a team for world cup we are not assured that we will bring the World Cup to home.
We should play with best experienced players. We should not inject new faces and young bloods in lots. At the maximum we can have one young new blood in the team. Let us first assure this young blood is good and efficient then retain and go for another. Australia is a successful team because of such a process.
We have lot of talented young bloods in our team but not yet ready for international matches. This talented young punch of players should still need to play India ‘A’ team and play in overseas venues and prove their worth. After proved their worth they should be injected to the senior team in a systematic manner not in groups. Then they should be selected and allowed to play with the senior team. They should be allowed to play in First Class matches and on those matches after a ‘series’ is decided i.e. THE DEAD MATCHES or IRRELEVANT MATCHES.
Injecting new players should be a slow and steady process and should not be done in a haphazard manner as happening in India.
