When I saw that there was a psychological thriller starring Meg Ryan, I was more than happy to check it out. I decided to dedicate my Sunday evening to it and have never been more disgusted. One has some hope of something happening in the movie only for the first 20 minutes. After that you know its going no where. A hype was created about Meg Ryan showing it all in this movie and yes she has done just that.
The sex scenes are very graphic. Meg Ryan looks old and desperate to move away from her romantic girl next door image. Well she has done a very bad job at it. It would have been better if the n=movie had just been a thriller or a dark psychology movie but in an attempt to combine the two the director is left with nothing but lots of dark shots, porn sex scenes and a forced twist in the end.
The story is about an English teacher Frannie (Meg Ryan) who may have witnessed something about a murder and a police detective Malloy (Mark Ruffalo). Other than these two there is actually no need of any more characters in the story. All of them look forced into the script, especially Kevin Bacon (I still have no clue why he was in the movie).
The fact that I just need two lines to describe the storyline shows how bad the movie was. This is the only movie that I had to fast forward so that I could watch the end (forced twist) and lament over my wasted weekend. My advice to all those who have heard about the movie, please don?t waste any money over it. Don?t watch even if you get it for free.
