Before u start reading this review, I want u readers to understand that I am writing this review for the people who dont have much or any knowledge on computer maintenance.
Computers have become very cheap nowadays with one being available to suit everyones needs, be it the avid gamer or the busy executive. Differences apart, all of them have the same components within them and use the same principles for computing. All of us wud have learnt in out lower classes that a computer is a machine which does what we tell it to do with high precision. Thats perfectly true. But it is up to us to keep it in top notch condition. Of course, u will have to keep it clean, wipe and prevent any dust from entering, keep it thermally stable by seeing that the heat being generated by the processor( other components generate heat as well but the processor hogs the major portion of the chart) is being properly pushed away from the system by the use of proper exhaust fans, etc.
The above problems do not affect a computers performance to a large extent, compared to the performance bottlenecks caused when u do not maintain ur system internally.
For people who were born with computers in their blood, it will be a sinch to do so. But for peole like u and me, we will have to look for alternate sources.

The main page will show u the major features like clean, fix, maintain, optimize and protect with the right hand side of the screen showing u the related tasks within each feature. The options are many, and I will leave most of them for u to find out. Dont worry, system mechanic 5 offers u the chance to rollback a setting if u dont know what u r doing. But I doubt u will do this, as system mechanic offers u help all along the way. It defines what problem u are trying to solve, what the causes were and how it is going to go about eliminating it.
Use the'get rid of system junk' option to search and remove obsolete and useless files and reclaim ur hard drive space. Clean ur registry to remove invalid data. Use the utility bar and keep' tuning ur pc' just a mouse click away! Optimize ur net connection speed, windows settings, and defragment ur memory as well.
One important feature in this is the auto trigger option, which u can set. When the free ram available to the system reaches this value(this happens when u are running a lot of background applications), system mechanic will automatically defragment ur ram and improve ur performance. U can defragment ur hard drives with a real time pie chart being displayed. It also has an inbuilt antivirus and anit spyware built in, but I suggest u use dedicated programs for them both. Much more to say, but I feel that it is equally easy for both the novice and the expert to find out.
Overall, an excellent software with good functionality. But it is not free, u get only 30 day trials.
