Here I am back on this website after a long time. Well, I had the opportunity to visit a number of places and eateries during this period and I would like to share my experiences with all you guys. Just last Sunday, I happened to visit the famed Imly at the Rajouri Garden with my friends. Well, the name is quite enticing, however, the quality here definitely does not complement the name.
Imly is famous for its vegetarian dishes and it is quite a paradise for veg lovers. Hoping the same, I visited this eatery and was impressed by its decor. It looks like a running train from outside and the decor inside is refreshing too. However, the service was less than good. The staff completely misinterpreted my order and I had to order my lunch again. The tables were not in great shape either. I could see flies feasting over the leftovers at few tables. I decided to stay away from those tables and booked myself a table at the far corner.
The service was not quick and I had to wait for sometime for my lunch. The staff definitely needs to work on their soft skills while dealing with customers. Coming to the food, my friends and I ordered a few items. The Golgappas were crisp, however, the fillings inside were woefully low. The mashed potato inside the golgappas tasted bitter at times, however, the golgappa shake was fine.
The Masala Dosa was slightly chewy and it also had too much salt in it. I complained about this fact and the staff delivered the same dosa with some sour stuff in the sambar. It started to taste even worse. The batter in the Dosa was not mixed properly and the spices were not added up evenly. The gunpowder fried idli was good, but it was slightly hard to chew.
The Lemon Banta bottle was cheap, however, the taste was slightly higher on the sweet side. I had to ask for another Banta bottle and this time it tasted way too sour. Even the Banta Shikanji was way too sweet.
Overall, the ambiance of the place is tempting, however, the service is very slow. Adding to that, the quality of food definitely needs a look-in. Only then would I be tempted to visit this place in the future.
