imdb.com - INTERNET MOVIE DATABASE - Is quite simply that. An essential tool for all of you movie fans interested in tracking down those hard to find releases or finding out the minutest details about your fave films of now or yesteryear.
The database is truly a mine of information. You can discover all manner of information on your favourite actor, actress or director.
This is absolutely the first place I look to if I want to find out about a Film.
Old or New, imdb.com, will give you some terrific information about the film, background information about where and when it was shot, cast and crew details and a whole ream of reviews and other moviegoers comments about the film.
The best bit for any movie buff is that you can search for details of new releases in the USA - or upcoming release dates of yet to be screened films - both in the UK and US.
For instance before the film 'Thirteen Days' (starring Kevin Costner - about the Cuban missile crisis) was released here in the UK, it had been out in the States since February. By the time it was at the UK Cinemas, in May, I'd already read reviews on it - both professional and just by fans - from going to this site. I could also find photographs from the film, press releases. Plus I could find out which company is distributing it (if I wanted to contact them for more information etc) and it's official release days, both here, in Europe and Australasia.
There are seperate clickable links to the UK version of the site and the US version, plus daily features giving reviews of the latest films out on DVD and Video - movie trailer clips - top 10 at the Box Office - and Star Birthdays!
I said at the top of this review it is an Essential site - it is THE Site for anyone interested in movies. If you haven't tried it before - thank me later!!!!
