IKEA India E-Commerce experience was PATHETIC

I have been a regular IKEA customer during my stay in Europe, and have always appreciated the in-shop experience, online experience, pricing, delivery, and product quality that I have received from IKEA in Europe.


Recently I had come to know about IKEA India taking orders online and had decided to order a few bookcases for home delivery. The experience this time has been pathetic. I will never use IKEA India E-Commerce again.


The below timeline of my experience will explain the reason for this rude feedback from me regarding IKEA India E-Commerce.


08-June-2021 - I tried to place an Order for bookcases online on ikea.com/in, however, the site was reporting some irrelevant error message.


09-June-2021 - I tried again to place an Order for bookcases online on ikea.com/in, however, the site was still reporting the same irrelevant error message.


09-June-2021 - I called IKEA customer support and asked them the reason for the problem shown online. They suggested that there was some system issue and that they can take my order over the phone. They courteously recorded by order and informed me that I will get a mail from IKEA with my order which will be followed by a request for payment.


09-June-2021 - True to the words of the customer support adviser, I got the order confirmation by email and a payment request from paynimo.com. I made an online payment immediately using net banking.


12-June-2021 - Delivery was expected on this date from IKEA, I waited at my home from 9 am to 9 pm expecting a delivery but nothing came.


13-June-2021 - No update or delivery


14-June-2021 - I called up Customer Support, who informed me that my order had been cancelled! However, I never received an email or call from IKEA to explain the cancellation. The customer support agent informed me that somebody from IKEA will call me later in the day to rebook my Order. And I foolishly accepted their explanation.


16-June-2021 - I still got neither the Order cancellation mail nor call, nor the call to rebook the Order. I called up Customer Support once again, to which they repeated the same message "We have your payment, somebody will call you today to rebook your order". I got fooled for the second time now.


23-June-2021 - Still no mails from IKEA, no calls, no payment refund. I called up Customer Support once again, this time the agent took my Order number and immediately disconnected by calling!


So now I have no goods, my money is with IKEA, and I cannot reach them.


My advice is to stay away from IKEA India E-Commerce, they are worse than a small-time e-Commerce retailer.
