My thought process is simple. Any institute which runs full page ads in major dailies - exhorting potential entrants to ’think beyond IIMs’ has to set a class which should supersede IIPM like ISB does.
While I must admit that due to a PAID oversees summer internship, the corporate exposure must be decent.
Good faculty and excellent infrastructure is needed before the claim to fame beyond IIMs can be made.
I would be most happy to see IIPM raise its operational bar in the field of academicia.
Any B school of repute must concentrate on the following five facets:
1) Infrastructure
2) Quality of faculty
3) Quality of course content
4) Quality of students intake
5) Industrial exposure.
While the institute ranks well on # 5, it needs a lot of work before it can truly claim to be at par on rest of the four facets.
Following an ICFAI model of expansion needs a lot of thought behind it. Does IIPM have it? That is the question.
PS – this review is not intended to offend any parties – but is just an extrapolation of my personal feelings.
