If you are looking to buy a Washing machine, and if you want it to last long and also clean your clothes please dont buy IFB washing machines.
They have a horrible service to top it all. I dont know about other parts, but I live in Bangalore and their service is horrible...
It was working good only for 2 yrs and after that every Quarter it has some or the other problem. Besides I have compared the way it washes clothes with other washing machines, , , its very inferior even in terms of washing.
For example, a simple washing(Quick in IFB s language) takes a minimum of 1 and half hours. Where as ive seen other washing machines doing the same job or rather better in just 45 mins.
Recently it developed a technical snag and all of a sudden it stopped working and I called the service men. They came(2days later) and told that motor is worn out and we have to replace it. He also suggested a great idea(my father in law actually thought so) that we should go for the annual maintenence program because for 2500 Rs we will get free maintainence or 1 yr and the motor can also be replaced in this programme. So we opted for this and it took 45 days for this contract to be finalised. This is the period where I tried various other washing machines at my friends and relatives place.
The motor was replaced and after a month or so, when I had put clothes for washing, I noticed that instead of cleaning the clothes it had stained all the clothes with black dots like stains. It was something like dried grease but very small particle size. On lighter clothes it was more prominent and to my horror it refused to go even after repeated washing.
I called the service guy again, He came and he said the rubber tank has completely worn out and needs replacement. I asked him to replace it and as usual they dont have stock. After 15 days I again called another technician, hoping that he will replace the rubber tank, , and this time he didnt even mention that I hv to replace the rubber tank but put the blame on washing powder.
He thinks Surf Excel is not god, But instead asked me to try Henko. He foolishly says, the grease particle came from the Soaping powder. I thought he was joking, but he says these days surf excel gets contaminated with dust. I was disgusted. they dont have proper technicians and they never keep up with time.
In Plain, Dont Buy IFB just because they look glossy or have some stupid front load facility.
