If you want to know whats the worst customer experience, you just need to get one IDFC consumer loan. Am a loyal customer of Capital First bank for the last 4-5 years and I always had a good experience with them. The moment it been taken over by IDFC Bank and not its called IDFC Consumer loan and things are different. I had 4 consumer loan with Capital first and there were not even a single missed payments or a bounce charges.


Recently I took one consumer loan which is now IDFC consumer loan and they forgot or misplaced the mandate to be submitted to my personal bank. Because of the same, the EMI was not getting deducted and I had to pay the EMI through their stupid app developed by the IQ of their similar customer service agents. Their customer service agents have no idea what they are talking and they don't keep their promises either. Nor they call back. They may disconnect the call in between and there were many times I had to discuss the same issue 10 times to 10 different customer agents.


Finally I decided to walk into one of the branches as per the advice from one of the customer representatives. I went there with the hope of somebody I can meet face to face and explain. In fact, I work Monday to Friday and I can deal with this only on weekends. So I had to walk in the day the customer service agent advised and I did that. I was so surprised to hear that Manager has gone for a function and there are only 2 customer service agents available and they have accompanied him as well and I need to come on Monday. (Trivandrum Branch and not Bangalore branch, As I was in Trivandrum for a meeting for a month.)


I was wondering how on earth a bank functions like this. My friend had an idea of starting FD and other investments with this bank and even I thought of banking with IDFC. I warned my friends and also everyone in my IT park about this during a conference. Later on, after a couple of weeks, I walked into the Bangalore Koramangala branch. They asked me to sign a new mandate. They started blaming my personal bank from where EMI is supposed to be debited. However, I had all the proof that it's not their fault. And these customer service agents are trained only to put the fault on anything other than their own system. They cannot solve any issues. I was moved from one room to another three times and I had to explain my issues again and again.


The last agent promised my issue will be resolved and the bounce charges will be waived off which I don't know when that will happen. Already 1 month over and I can still see that in my account. Just like their other promises. Now I got an SMS from my personal bank that a new mandate has been registered by IDFC. So I know the EMI will go on time from next month. This also means previously they have not submitted the mandate. Hence the EMI was not getting deducted. This would be the last time I will be dealing with this bank. If this is not getting resolved soon, I am going to press with all the proofs I have. It's not about money. It's all about horrible customer service which people need to know and what they are getting into.


Having said all this, they are not paying my Uber bills for the trips I took to their bank and also the time I have spent solving this issue which remains unresolved. Moreover not sure all this is reflecting in my CIBIL also. I miss the old Capital First service days. IDFC shouldn't have taken over such a good service provider Capital First and make it worst like this. Now I am just collecting all the details so that I can provide the info to the press.
