Fraud Sales Practice and Fishy Customer Care

I initiated my sales cycle with the online chat option and after giving in all the details the chat rep scheduled for a callback from sales team, I received the call in no time. The nightmare started right after.


To get a sale done, the sales agent quoted a decent IDV with low premium as she chose a lower variant without my knowledge. The same was not rectified by ICICI even after the vehicle and RC inspection which was done by them. When I raised the correction request I was asked to make an additional endorsement payment, and when I refused ICICI forced me to continue by not telling me the deductions I will have to bear if I choose to cancel the policy, a deduction even in the cooling off period.


With the only choice of continuing with ICICI at least for one year I made the payment but even then, the IDV was bought down by close to 50K. This change of IDV after getting the model and CC was never ever communicated to me till the time I received the endorsement copy.


There are three major fraud practices that I experienced:




  1. During initial sales – Intentionally putting a lower model details while generating the quote so that I get lured by the IDV and premium and pay in an instant




  2. During policy cancellation request – Even after multiple attempts and talking to several guys from ICICI I was kept in dark about the deductions I will have to bear clouding my decision to go with another Insurance company and literally imposing ICICI insurance on me




  3. After making the endorsement payment - The IDV was reduced without any prior information/indication, again a gray practice by ICICI to end up getting the payment as if I knew this fact I wouldn’t have gone ahead with ICICI no matter what.






Even after multiple emails, calls and god knows what nothing was done by the company to resolve my VALID issues.


There are some serious felonies carried out by ICICI Lombard in terms of fair business practices, consumer law and insurance guidelines.


Giving incorrect quote, continuing to process the quote with incorrect vehicle details to a policy even after a complete vehicle inspection, keeping the customer in dark affecting their decision making and imposing ICICI Lombard, and not giving the service that was promised initially.


I DON'T RECOMMEND ICICI LOMBARD TO ANYONE AS THESE GUYS ARE PURE FRAUDSTER.
