Good Bank for SB Account. I recommend. Review on ICICI Bank

My SB account in ICICI started as a salary account with zero balance allowed. Later got converted to regular balance account. I have hardly had to visit the branch, except the one time for receiving new grid based debit card, as most of my needs were taken care of by the online banking. Only problem I have had so far is when I deposited a cheque into my account in ATM Box but the ICICI bank sent the cheque for collection after a few months(that is very late) and they charged me Rs. 350/- fine for cheque bouncing. At that time I was living atleast 600 kms from my base branch and one day away from the nearest branch. Even though as a principle what they did was wrong, considering the waste of time and effort I chose not to take this up with the bank. But other than this incident that I still cannot fathom, my experience with ICICI has been near perfect and unblemished. 1) I have mostly used online banking for funds transfer to and fro PSU banks and other banks with my own accounts and many others' accounts. So far so good. 2) Mobile topup is done easily in a snap. 3) Security features like digit verification(debit card) for online purchase / funds transfer is there. 4) Can use ICICI debit cards in most other ATMs without any charge. 5) Have received cash back a few times. 6) Have booked railway ticket so many times via online banking I have lost count. Have made so many online purchases. 7) Have approached non-base branch in Chennai for immediate issuance of a few cheque leaves in emergency and got the work done. 8) People from non-base branch(Mylapore branch Chennai in particular) are helpful and sensitive in understanding the concerns of non-base account holders. ICICI Bank SB account has been my mainstay for over 5 years and I will readily recommend it to anyone. I am a Savings Account holder, and none of my experiences above relate to any other product of any bank(s). I don’t know about the service levels of loan accounts or credit cards division of any bank incl ICICI. W.r.t Credit cards, it is my policy not to have one, so I think on that count itself I have saved myself from a lot of headaches. Thanks to readers and please do leave your comments / reflections.
