I have been a customer of ICICI bank for last 10 years & I have been thoroughly delighted with their service every now and then. I would like to sight a recent example on this. The moment I receive my credit card statement, I schedule a payment through ICICI bank online banking to be processed 2-3 days prior to the due date so that I don't have to remember the due date.


I have been doing this for last 3-4 years & the payment has got processed every time. For some reason, the payment scheduled in Jan didn't get processed and I was subsequently charged late payment charges & interest by my credit card service provider. I came to know about this only when I got the subsequent bill. I immediately made payment through ICICI bank internet banking for the total amount due & reported this issue to ICICI bank.


After thorough study of the case, ICICI bank admitted my argument that I suffered these charges because of payment transaction failure & I wasn't even notified for the transaction failure and they compensated me for the late payment charges & interest charges. This shows 100% commitment towards customer satisfaction which other banks/ service provider should also learn from ICICI Bank.
