Hello i10 aspirants and owners,
This is my 2nd review for i10. My 1st was i10 Magna, the best hatch to buy now

7 months into driving this car and my excitement has never thinned. I simply love her beauty from the moment I see it parked from the outside till I make my way into her and hit the road.
* 5 things that I liked about i10:
1. It makes little or no **noise. Not an exaggeration but sometimes I am guilty of twisting the ignition key to only realise later that the engine is on and idle. Gives me a sense of'touch of class' while am inside or atleast that is what I would like to believe.
Interiors remain inviting provided u keep it clean. Initially there was too much of a hulla by many about the reflecting beige interiors that they said caused distraction while driving. Believe me, It has a fresh feel to it that once you get used to it, you wud luv it and most cars around you wud seem outdated. This is one aspect for which I won't mind paying more than wat I wud for the others in the category.
Space at the rear is impressive for a small car. Useful if you frequent trips with family and friends.
Power was my concern wen I bought 1.1 Magna. The 1.2 Kappa variants were not in then. Reviews suggest that Kappa had decreased the overall weight the vehicle carries and provides more power at the same mileage. I wish I had this engine in my car and strongly recommend the same.
A/C is amazing. Something that we all take for granted but this one cools the cabin faster than most other cars do. Boon for people in hot areas. I personally noticed during summer this year and every time I park my car outside in the afternoon. Mostly the fan speed that I set to is 1. Takes 3-5 min to cool the entire cabin.
* 5 things that I donot like about i10:
I sometimes feel cramped for power when I got to overtake or climb a steep slope. I cannot afford to switch on the a/c when am climbing one as it shows and suddenly feel that am on a 100 tonne loaded Truck. Itz reasonably good on highways but not on ghat roads. U will sense this when ur car is fully loaded with 5 and luggage. That is why I suggest - go for 1.2l kappa.
Gear switching has continued to bother me. It stucks at reverse and hard to swith from neutral to first. 2 services done. The service guy says that Hyundai has taken note of this issue and is researching for a fix. For all you out there, the problem is not acute though. It happens sometimes and only with 1st and reverse gear positions. Understandable since this is the first time Hyundai experimented to position gears on the dash.
Headlights are dim if you are a night driving enthusiast. Fix halogen if you have cousins working with RTA or replace them with more powerful headlamps.
i10 has the latest in suspension technology. For some reason it does not filter out the jerks and shocks from the famous uneven roads that we have everywhere. She wobbles, not violently but as much that you wud not prefer to take it to your native village to showcase it to your grandparents. I agree she s not a rally car but I wud expect a better shock absorbing system for a car highly regarded by many.
I wish if Hyundai can read and consider this .launch i10 in more colors. Santro has wide range of options to choose from. For i10 yellow and black are duds. I personally did not like it. The most appealing is brick red. Looks vibrant and stands out from the rest. Gold looks soothing too. I ve heard that grey loses its sheen and gets dull with time. I ve got silver.
So, whatever my verdict or your thoughts about this car is, i10 continues to impress. The latest and the most liked small car in recent times. Hyundai is right with its understanding of Indian market's needs and with i20 and i30 in the pipeline, got to see if it continues to deliver?
My heart is with i10 and I give it a thumbs up, simply coz I have spent some memorable moments driving with my friends and family. Go for it if u intend to buy a hatch.
Wishing U all a happy and safe drive.
