This is Nadeem Shravan''s fourth release this year after a hat trick of hits like Dhadkan, Kasoor and Ek Rishta . However Hum Ho Gaye Aap Ke is a rehash of their previous works. If others are inspired by someone else''s work, Nadeem Shravan are inspired by their earlier music. You can hear shades of Saajan and their other movies in this album.
The best song of the album is the title song Hum Ho Gaye Aap Ke sung ably by Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu. This one is surely going to be in all the countdown charts pretty soon. Nothing new by Nadeem - Shravan here but it makes for pleasant listening. There is an instrumental version of this included too on Side B. The other Alka and Sanu duet is Pehli Baar Dil Ye which is just about average.
On first hearing you feel that Pehli Baar Milen Hai from Saajan forms the base of Ishq Hai Kya. The only thing that makes it rise from being just another rehashed song is Sonu Nigam''s spirited singing. Abhi To Mohabbat Ka by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik is a pleasant enough song but it doesn''t do much to prove the talent and versatality of Nadeem and Shravan as composers.
Alka Yagnik has sung the next number Der Se Hua. She is her usual competent self but the song has nothing new to offer. It is repeated in the voice of Kumar Sanu but the Alka version sounds much better. Kumar Sanu should take a well-deserved break from singing for some time. Re Mama is a typical Sunidhi number and she sings it with gusto. A song for the masses definitely.
This album has the trademark Nadeem - Shravan stamp. But it is very average fare coming from the duo who have given us some great scores in Aashiqui, Saajan, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, and more recently in Pardes and Dhadkan.
