I have been an avid Cell phone enthusiast and new technology often attracts and excites me, and was waiting for the HTC One from months, even though I contemplated and thought of the other major new launches especially the S4 and Xpreia-Z, I was convinced with the HTC-One, now having bought one , this is my take on the marvelous and elegant " HTC One", am not getting deep into technical aspects since there's a lot of info already available, the review is about the user experience.
The best out there, it looks fabulous and beats its nearest competitor in this segment, it feels solid and yet light weight, the ascetics certainly stands out and HTC has done well to package the entire components into one solid aluminum bodied piece, it does turn heads when you carry it around.
The much hyped and talked about " Ultra-pixel" camera, has been the only not so good feauture ( if may say so), even though the pictures are amazing and sharp especially the dark light photos, i'm still not convinced if this beats everyone else. The front camera is 2.1 MP and is good, the main or rear camera packs in a 4 MP Ultra pixel camera, may be just may be HTC should have considered the Ultrapixel technology with a higher MP camera it would have killed the competition outright.
The camera features are pretty cool , with some innovative tweaks, such as numerous modes of shooting, edit options.
The other proud HTC announcement was " Zoe" , im honestly trying to figure out what's so special about the same, since its a shorter video which can be viewed frame-by-frame, hence nothing great about it. Gallery is pretty impressive, except the fact that FB friends photos automatically shows-up which can be irritating at times ( you can disable this though)
-Multimedia Options:
With a stunning full HD screen you can't expect anything less than a wonderful viewing experience and the HTC one doesn't disappoint you here, infact if you ask me one killer feature of the phone i'd go with this, the beats audio speakers blows your head-out and watching a HD video is pure class.
Music app is well designed and has some good tweaks and customizable settings too.
Overall if you want to experience the best hand viewed multimedia this is the " ONE".
-Usability:
This phone is a pleasure to use, its extremely fast and delivers every time you use it, multi tasking is seemless and is expected when you have the kind of specs it has.
HTC sense does make sense, i've read some reviews take it apart however my own experience is it does add that touch of specialty to the android enabled device.
Battery:
Have been using it for a week, and runs almost 3/4 of a typical day which includes a huge number of calls, messages, a bit of music and videos.
-Other features:
Blinkfeed: Initially I thought it was quite useless, unless I got used to it, it makes your phone lively and reduces the time you need o spend on news websites / FB, and does catch attention of new lookers.
Facelock: even though I've used a face lock app on other devices, the inbuilt security option of face lock of the HTC One stands out, its super quick and reliable.
Earphones: Wow, yet another quality add-on
Overall, having used the Samsung Note, Iphone, BB and having explored the latest offering from SONY, Samsung and Nokia, , the HTC ONE is by far the Best, right from the time you turn the phone on it stuns you and delivers with every single option / feature it has to offer.
Purchase price: 41, 000/- ( Needs hard negotiation).
Also bagged a free stereo head phone.
Final Call: If you want to experience the Best of technology, the HTC ONE is the " ONE", you won't regret it., Move aside Samsung and Apple the HTC is here.
