Few months ago, I was in search of a Mobile built with Android OS and when I came across HT Explorer, My searching gets stopped automatically which is not only perfectly suitable as per my requirements but also in the range of my budget.

As all know, today under Smartphone Market, HTC has been a front runner, especially when it comes to the Android OS. As it’s the newest cell phone in the market but makes its place stronger enough. Also HTC Explorer is affordable in terms of burgeoning space for Market’s Price.

The phone is targeted at the entry-level customers & offers somewhat powerful interior functionality with a Glamorous exterior looks.

At First Site: The first thing we should take into consideration when we see the HT Explorer is how it looks, about its design, its uniqueness from other smartphones available in the market.

This has a round edge that seems to be universal in the nature; this shape also increases its look that attracts more towards it. It is cute looking & its back surface fits properly in your palm.

The best & most distinctive feature that separates Explorer from others smartphones is the strip of gold that runs down its back, covering with the camera lens that gives it a classy design. In addition to this, the Snap-On covers are available in many colours including Purple, Orange, White & Blue.

Size & Screen: It’s very compact in size & Explorer has Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread with Sense UI 3.5 on top. The Explorer’s LCD screen is pretty good enough, Display size is just little over 3.2" inch across, and with pixel dimensions of 320x480.

On the down side of the phone, the screen is a bit of a fingerprint magnet. It is reasonably bright, but in direct sunlight, Visibility is below average. Basic Feature & Specification: In terms of HT Explorer specifications, this phone is embedded with 3.2 inch full touchscreen display.

We got real & crystal clear photos and the videos over the resolution of 320×480 pixels. Its video playback supports most video formats including AVI and MP4 etc. It has a high speed 600 MHz Processor that makes it superfast.

The device also has 384MB RAM & 512MB ROM memory with 32GB expandable memory card support. The Picture clarity is too good enough as the device possess 3.15MP camera with no flash, 90MB of internal storage and supports a tiny 600MHz processor.

It records the videos in HD. the smartphone is going to be the cost-effective handset with a decent pack of features. The device supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and GPS connectivity. It is also the first HTC Smartphone that Supports Hindi Language.

With a total of 512 MB RAM and a 600 MHz processor, HT Explorer handles the latest Android version (Gingerbread 2.3.5). The Bluetooth feature for this device is super-fast and the call quality and signal strength was both very good, even in enclosed spaces.

The device contains one notification bar that shows the last activity used while frequently apps shows up on the home screen itself. The apps including Contacts, Message, Email, Pictures & FB Updates show up in the same place.

Overall, it is extremely well-organised. HT Explorer has the tiny QWERTY keyboard in portrait and landscape orientation on the 3.2-inch touchscreen, the device also has an Auto Correct for Mis-Spelling any of the inaccurate with typing.

Drawbacks: One minor drawback for this is that if we try to pull out any apps from the home screen, the whole app starts. As the device has Camera with No LED flash, So its impossible to allow taking snaps with better quality at night.

Battery Life And Verdict The HTC Explorer use a Standard battery, “Li-Ion 1230 mAh” with the Stand-by timing Up to 485 h (2G) and 445 h (3G). The talk time for the device is Up to 7 h 40 min (2G) and 7 h 33 min (3G). For music lovers, the HTC Explorer would have multi-format audio & video player.

So that you can listen to your favorite tracks on the fly. Either you share music with your friends playing on loud speakers or plug in the 3.5mm jack to move on the beat fantasy.

Price: HTC Explorer is available in India for Rs. 11, 000 approx.

Conclusion: If you prefer the interface and some extra features over performance, then the HTC Explorer is a good option to go with the world of affordable Androids.
