I was looking for a PSC (Printer, Scanner, Copier) for my house. HP cartridges would generally cost around Rs.800-1500. Its a general rule that lower the cost of the printer, higher will be its cartridges cost. But, this model is an exception.
HP has recently launched a new model “HP Deskjet Ink Advantage K209a” model. It is an all-in-one with colour printer, flatbed scanner (so you can scan books) and a PC-less copier (Xerox/copy even when PC is off). And most important of all is, the catridges b/w or colour each cost only Rs.380. I mostly use A4 papers. It handles different sized papers but, papers thinner than A4 thickness seem to get jammed inside the devise.
I have been using it since 6 months and have no issues and simply love this. The installation is very easy. Each b/w catridge will give 600pages @ 75paise/page. The colour print would yield 250 4x6 photos or colour paper prints @ 90paise/page. I bought HP Photo paper and printed some photos. The photos look great.
Thought the price is Rs.8, 800, I got it for Rs.6600 at CTC, Secunderabad.
For faxing, you can use many free websites over the internet like Fax4free, eFax etc.
