This printer has been my absolute favorite computer related piece of equipment. It held up to two years of extreme printing before dying with a mechanism problem in December of last year. So when I went back to replace it I found and have still have not found it's equal,so I replaced it with another 1120c. Text wise the printer has no superior in the ink jet world.
At the time of it's release it had no peer among tabloid capable ink jet printers, but has since been bettered by its younger siblings. Although none have tabloid printing capabilities keeping the 1120 a dominant big brother in the HP family.
The 1120c is easily the most versitile ink jet on the market today. At around $399.00 at Office Max stores around the country you might want to think about picking one up before HP kills it off.
Strengths:
11X17 Printing, Great Printer Driver, Great near Photo quality printing especially for a printer released well over 2 years ago.
Weaknesses:
Will destroy a lot of paper on long print runs. No indication what so ever when color ink will run out. Uses yellow ink in B & W photo printing therefore making printer a color ink cartridge hog. and then HP started putting less ink in the color cartridge not giving heavy users an option of buying the larger cartridge (great way to turn off customers if you ask me).
Similar Products Used:
To my knowledge there is no other printer in its class at least not in the stores I shop in Office Depot and Office Max.
