Bad Omen! Do you believe in it?

Aarush (Akshay Kumar), the main character of Housefull is known for his bad luck. His hope is that the day he finds his real love the bad luck will turn good. Houseful is Aarush's bad omen adventures which turn to be a Garam Masala swapping partner episode. (With a house full of misrepresentations, swapping partners and complexitites)

The movie is a mindless light entertainer throughout. It is very much entertaining in the first half. Second half too started well but the fun faded as it approached the finale. There are two plots in the movie which somehow joined together. The film fail to capitalise on the comedy created in the first 2 hours and the climax was a disaster. Despite this the movie will give what it has promised, never ending fun.

Akshay Kumar proved again that he can handle this kind of comedy roles easily. What is noticeable is an Akshay giving sufficient space to his fellow actors/actresses. Deepika Padukone didn't have much to do in the film but she just fit the role offered her. (The romance angle is less focused.) Ritesh Deshmukh - Lara Dutta formed a good fun pair and the chemistry works. In fact Lara Dutta got more screen space than Deepika in the film. Jiah Khan (sexy), Arjun Rampal (good), Boman Irani (funny as usual), Chunky Pandey (Hilariously jokinge...) & Randhir Kapoor (good) made their presence felt.

Music of the film is average, fast & peppy. Lyrics follow the latest bollywood trend, i.e. Hinglish. (Pity but that is the order of the day. It is a symbol of a changing India.) Choreography is more skinny and colourful (reddish) and attractive but lack any creativity.

Editing is ok. Cinematography is good (some scenes in the beginning look very pale on screen with visible distractions but it is there only in few scenes).

Overall, the movie is a fun ride which will bring a lot of laughter in theaters. It fail to capitalise on the comedy base and there are lot of areas where it could have improved. The movie is recommended for all those who love to throw themselves out in laughter.
