I had to travel to Nagpur on some personal work. I booked the train tickets and was wondering about which hotel to stay in when I saw an ad for Hotel Siddhartha Inn on the same page. I just looked up the site, it looked kind of optimum for my budget and needs. I dashed off a mail to the mail ID on their site and pronto I got a reply within the next 30 minutes confirming my booking.
It is located about 1.5 km from the railway station and about 2 km from the ST bus stand. There was this persistent cycle-rickshaw guy, who wouldn't leave us alone at the station; he ferried us to the hotel at the cost Rs 10/- per person.
The staff were expecting our arrival and had the room ready. Within a minute of my filling in the guest register I was in the room. We had an executive room which is a double occupancy a/c room. The room was comfortable and clean, with cable TV, telephone and a clothes closet. The bed was made with fresh linen.
When we came down we were given coupons for the breakfast, which consisted of fresh sandwiches, hot aloo parathas, curd, Upma and sambhar. The food was OK.
Nagpur has a daily scheduled power outage at different times of theday. Considering that we landed in peak summer(45°C) I wasapprehensive about the a/c in the rooms. But my apprehensions werebelied as they had a back-up generator and ran the a/c during the poweroutage time too(without the guests having to raise a noise about it).
Other amenities:
Complimentary breakfast - decent. Menu consisted of sandwiches, upma and sambhar(!) and aloo parathas, followed by coffee/tea.
Wi-fi internet connectivity - so if you had your laptop, you could access MS from the room.
Room service(food).
Laundry services.
Check-out: 24 hours.
Staff were polite and helpful. People all over Nagpur were anyway helpful.
Cost: Rs 1400/- per day(inclusive of taxes).
Overall it was a no hassles, pleasant stay.
