Not long ago, I have been a regular visitor of HSB and a silent admirer of its service to the people at a reasonable prices apart from giving employment to thousands.
But regretably, the quality of food items, service and the cleanliness have over a period of time deteriorated so much that it can never boast of its name any more! It takes minmum of 10 minutes to get urself served. While the prices were increased steadily, the quality has declined markedly. This is the case with many of their branches in chennai and even at abroad.
Incidentally, I had been to US recently when I chanced to visit their branch at Sunnyvale for an evening snacks. Contrary to my great hopes and expectations, the quality and quantity of the items served were far from desirability and certainly do not match with the prices.
Even the side items like sambar and chutny were of poor taste. In fact, HSBs are among the costly indian restaurants in USA. The hotel's ambience was not so good either vis-a-vis other indian hotels like Udupi, Pongal-Pongal etc., It is high time that the HSB management take corrective measures to restore its past glory!!!
