Honda Shine Vibrates on High Speed. Review on Honda Shine

Let me share my experience with Honda Shine, purchased on 29th October 2007 from Vahini motors, Kollam, Kerala. The bike was delivered to me with lot of problems within it . I made complaints and the dealer tried twice to resolve the issue.  They worked on it a lot including replacement of shock absorbers(resolved many of my complaints Except Vibration). I appreciate their efforts to resolve the issue but I am sorry to say that all their efforts to solve vibration are in vain.

The persisting problem is a kind of vibration on handle on low speeds and annoying vibration on foot rests which disturbs the ease in driving that the hands and legs become numb after a long drive. I made several complaints and as a result Their technicians examined my bike with great attention. Unfortunately they compared my Honda shine with another Honda shine. And judged that there are moving parts and it will vibrate usually. They said technicaly the vibrations are usual and according to their norms.(At a stage we even doubt “whether they were explaining vibration as a unique feature of Honda shine) and Honda shine is meant for city riding only.

In fact they admitted my points. Honda shine is bike of Vibration flavored with good pickups. Vibration is common for all shines. I suggest to change their logo to Dream IT, Do IT, Vibrate IT. HMSI is formed to vibrate Indian riders.

I have given references of other customers also but their agents were unaware of complaints from other customers .I doubt they cant drive a silent bike like bajaj Discover 125 dtsi because they are used to vibration for last few years. Wah!

More confusing factor for a new customer is. It is difficult to identify the vibration on test drive. it will be very smooth for first few kilometers . It will start vibrating after the engine is hot. say after 5 kms shine will make u realize its real vibration. We cant use it for a continuous drive of 50 kms

I have been using bikes for the last 13 years and successfully completed 95000 kms with my old bike. I am already fed up using such a vibrator machine in which I have completed a suffering journey of only 1600 kms. I have no doubt this vibrator machine will stop working within 40000 kms.

I suspect it’s some sort of  issue related to the design. Dealer also told that  Shine is a High Torque bike and it is common to have vibrations as  the bike doesn’t have a  5th gear. All these points made me clear that my argument of Honda Shine being is defective bike is not just a guess.

I suggest the defective product needs to be withdrawn with immediate effect and compensation granted to all customers. Most of the Indian customers are not aware about consumer rights. they can stay on their stupid arguments while I am taking the challenge of pooling all vibrating customers of Honda shine and going right for another complaint. I would like a response from their side as soon as possible, before I take it further with my lawyers and media.

I suggest shine owners to share their experience with others.
