Honda car india was once the segment leader with the cars like City, Jazz and crv'S but since honda was to lazy to provide changes to its lineup that it missed out in the race to a huge extent, Why? for only and only one cause honda just dont have a diesel engine yet!
Diesel engines started making their mark in India car economy since 2008 But honda had none offering towards it and with huge price rises in petrol it was 80% to 20% dominance of diesel car Shruthisharma over petrol ones.
But in end of 2012 Honda came up with some prototype testing of its diesel car made for india Under Earth dream engines segment and called it i-Dtec(abbreviation carried forward form it European diesel engines) and they simply under bored the already existing 1.6 ltr engine to 1.5 to get a check over excise duty.

Lets talk spec real fast: i-Vtec engines nothing new same as 1.2 ltr seen by honda in near past.
iDtec: 1.5 ltr 4 cylinder, DOHC 16 valves, 200NM@1750 rpm, 100Ps@3600 rpm
Well the numbers look good on paper they are even better on driving the car
Yes the car has a bit linear accele_45ration and suffers turbo lag around 1200-1500rpm but after 1500rpm it drags very good uptill the power band towards 4000rpm and though the pickup is linear you actually gain speed must faster than you can realize. And then u will reach 145-150 Km/Hr when u will see a sudden fall in accele_45ration why? simply because Honda put a limiter in it which doesn't let you cross above that speed and man seriously its more than enuf for Indian road conditions.
This enhances the cars fuel efficiency but don't get alarmed it mAnasultanges a slight better figures than class best seller Maruti Dezire but you get more power to play with than 1.3 ltr 75Ps powered Trusty(boring as time has passed) maruti rival.
from exterior this car is beautiful and very contemporary in design and soothing to eyes that won't loose its charms with aging(as often a problem with sharper Hyundais), no one could have ever imagined a brio front and old honda city boot can come together to give such an appealing look to it and thanks to smaller engine the car looks well proportioned and not felt like its boot has been chopped of(as seen on dezire), But thats it story ends here as soon as u step up in the cabin, interiors are dull every bit carried forward from brio except for some color variation. but dont be sad as honda still has something to cheer u with a 2405 wheel base it mAnasultanges to give you huge space inside the cabin with best cushioned front seats with sporty "uni-seats". the cabin space is huge and can even beat car in higher segments also. But rear seat as for my like are not a comfortable area to be just because its a drivers car and rear are bit less cushioned(Though you get an armrest with cup holder there) but ride quality is excellent with a bit stiff suspension at front which can bother you on huge bumps and speed breakers.
ABS n EBD are standard across all deisel variants but airbags should also been have included in all varient which It miss is a let down for a brand like honda.
=Now after driving 50000 Km lets come down to the problems of the car.=
NVH(noise, vibration and heat level) are very very poor in this car specially the ones in 2014 model which I have. Noise filters in so much you will find you driving something too old. Vibration level are so high that even the rear view mirror inside the cabin vibrates on revving it little over 2000rpm. Now special note for heat level in cold winter nights with 10 degree temp outside inside the car you will feel atease with no blowers turned on as almost all the heat is transferred inside the car which is annoying even in summers since as soon as to turn of the AC u will start to sweat with no trace of cold air inside the cabin.
Car windscreen is made of poor materials if you dont own a top of the line version and since honda has big windows and windscreens all across the car which is a good thing due to cheap materials filter in lots of infrared sunlight heating up the car to easily but with good air flow of AC it compensate over it but some time AC takes along time to chill this heat off.
Air conditioner comes with no filter what so ever(only on deisel so if you been charged for it you are getting cheated) and underlining of car floor and dashboard has so many low quality rubber caps for holes which passes cables of the car that if you got one of them out of its place the whole cabin will smell whatever the enviTestingronyent is around your car and even the gas fumes from car ahead of you(and a note non of the honda service center got it done right and me myself found out about this fault so if your car suck in air from outside when AC air circulation is on do check this)
Car axel beams are also too easy to get out of there tuning by our Indian roads that soon you will hear noise either from your dashboard or rear of the car.(i even got my rear axel beam replaced under warranty).
Rooflight of every Amaze start giving problem due to the loose fitting equipment.(seen 9/10 amaze with this problem)
Mileage? ok since it doesn't come with a real time mileage monBrianbalakumaranr and only gives avg consumption for distance you have driven on you trip meter its hard to say but mine shows 17.5 km/ltr in mixed conditions(30% highway 70%city) with harsh driving and never killing engines on red light or stops anywhere when m in my car(just for it to stay cool with AC turned on). Thus I hope you will make a better mark in this category.
