Fake reviews. Doesn't publish genuine -ve reviews. Review on Homeshop18

I had given good review for HS18 but today when I was about to review snapdeal.com(because I had a really bad experience with snapdeal.com on my first order) I found my review about HS18 here on mouthshut, which was a good review at that time. But since July 2013 I have stopped ordering from them.The reason is, most of their reviewers are fake and second reason is that I found a better site. They even allow reviews which are just copy paste of product description. In case reviewers are genuine like me and give negative rating they won't publish your review at all. Please look at this:

Henry Hudson - Pack of 5 Printeed Round Neck Tees

First time I ordered clothes and I am disappointed with a purchase.

HS18 never published it under the product. I had been ordering from them consistently but when even after 2 months, when my review was not published I stopped trusting their reviews. Otherwise their packaging, service and delivery time is good. That is why I will still give them 3 stars. But just because of these fake reviews, which affect your decision, whether to buy or not to buy a product, I don't use HS18 now. It is up to you to decide whether you are okay with fake reviews.

Now I use flipkart. Genuine reviews, genuine people and best rates.

Here is my original review of HS18:

I have read many negative reviews about Home Shop 18 so decided to write down my own experience.

My first experience with them was NOT that bad . I was bit skeptical about shopping online but as Cash On Delivery was available I went ahead anyway.

I ordered a dinner set(blue color) and a Pen drive for the first time on 18th August 2011 and selected Cash On Delivery option at their website. They shipped dinner set next day(I got bluedart sms on 19th). On 22nd I checked the status on bluedart.com and it said ’ Consignee not available at given address ’ even when bluedart didn’t even call me or came to deliver.

I posted feedback in order section and also called them on 23rd Aug telling about bluedart status. The lady said it’ll surely be delivered by next day(24th Aug). Customer care lady was NOT rude at all. And actually I received the courier on 23rd August itself. Even though the color was not what I had ordered it was okay with me as color sent was the one which I originally intended to order. Next day even in my order feedback section at their website there was a reply by HS18 that it’ll be delivered soon and also a lady called me on 24th Aug to confirm if I received the order and I said I have.

As for pen drive they shipped on 22nd and I might receive it today(25th) or 26th and it is not a problem. So it was bluedart which is slow and posts misleading status updates and not a problem with HS18

So my first experience with Home Shop 18 was good overall. May be because order amount was not that big and because of Cash On Delivery option I got good service. Not sure how good they will be if I order something which costs 5K or more.

Update 25th August, 2011

As per expectation I received the pen drive today. They didn’t send the exact HP pen drive model I had ordered(HP v220w) but they sent the smaller and more compact looking HP v115w which seems to be better than what I had ordered. The one I ordered had warranty of 1 year but the one they sent has warranty of 2 years. Also the price of the one they sent was Rs 55 more than the one I had originally ordered. Import month of pen drive is August 2011 itself. Data transfer seems very fast. This time delivery took only 3 days(from the day they shipped). So within a week of ordering I had received both the products.

In short my first experience with Home Shop 18 was very good.

I wanted to add a review for another product HomeSmart 60 Pc Melamine Dinner Set - Floral Fantasy but as I cannot I am going to add it here. I wanted to buy that dinner set but one of my friends had already bought it. It is a useless dinner set. Bowls got stains within 15 days. They are white and yellow patches. It is some cheap Chinese product sold under brand name Home Smart. After you have paid Rs. 3000 you do deserve better quality. They no longer seem to advertise it on TV may be after they received complaints about this product. But this dinner set is still being sold at their website. Please DON’T buy it.

Update 14th July, 2019 - I had written above that Flipkart publishes genuine reviews - that is not true anymore. After using Flipkart for another 5 years, I have realised that their reviews are fake too and they don't allow genuine negative reviews. Otherwise their services are still good. But for the last 4-5 years I am using amazon.in the most. Their services, prices and return policies are perhaps better than Flipkart. Amazon does allow genuine negative reviews but recently I have experienced that they too remove some genuine negative reviews even after moderators have allowed them. They removed two of my 53 reviews and when I contacted them they gave silly reasons for removing those.
