I don't even know where to start, but here is a try anyways.
My mother got admitted without any diagnosis. She was given a ward.
If you want to have a picnic and gala time with the nurses there, please feel free to get admitted. They are all in their 20s -30s, with nonsense mentality and not all serious about the patient or their jobs. They do not give st about the patient or her comfort. They actually make groups or gather and laugh and joke about things in an ICU ward.
All they are concerned about in filling pages and pages of reports and providing handovers(read dumping reports on someone else). They do their duties as though doing formalities. They would come time to time - odd and absurd timings - like 10: 30 pm in night or 5 am in morning and start taking blood, giving injections and doing tests. A time in which neither the patient or his/her relative are able to make any judgement.
They took the temperature without even washing the thermometer and kept using it again and again without washing it for my mom. Same with other patients. All they are interested in completing formalities, filling their pathetic sheets and laughing/joking around.
In one incident, since my mom is bedridden and diabetic patient, she passes urine frequently. They provided her with a catheter. to do so they had to shave pubic hair. They did it in the same bed as she was lying. When I went to visit her, she was lying in a bed sheet full of pubic hair, which by the way did not get changed till next afternoon. The housekeeping and nurses were so happy that they don't have to provide my mom with bedpan every few hours, that they left the hair and plastic cap in bed only, in which my mom was lying.
Everything they do is just to complete formalities so the senior doctors and nurses dnt pull them up. To fill reports and show on papers that things have been done.
Most of the time, they handed me the tablets to be fed or asked me to clean her.
Every morning a rude housekeeper call Kavita 4th Floor, she literally just roams her way in and then bangs on the bench I rest on; like around 6: 30 am. Wake up and fold the bench. Clean the cupboards. I am not making this up. It was as though I was the housekeeping there and she was giving me orders. When I could not tolerate it anymore, I complained to the supervisor and had a fight with Kavita. She did not apologize. They have amazingly rude and ill behaved staff.
I can go on but dnt want to. Horrible experience and horrible hospital. It's better to keep the patient at home and die than take them to this hospital.
The doctors are no different. They kept playing football with my mother's diagnosis between ortho, nephro and uro depts, till my brother contacted the higher ups through a friend of his. All to get a diagnosis on my mother's conditions.
Rather than spending money on building chapels for Christ, Jesus will be more happy if your doctors, nurses and staff can actually learn some empathy and manners. And actually dedicate their time and energy in saving and helping the patients.
Oh BTW, my father passed away in 2001 in the same hospital. Now when I think of it, I wonder whether seriously my father was that ill or their negligence caused his death.
I know why they call this hospital Holy Family. It's basically a gateway to heaven. You will come here alive and leave dead.
But trust me. NOTHING HOLY ABOUT THIS HOSPITAL. THE UNHOLY FAMILY HOSPITAL.
(I would rate lower if Mouthshut would allow to do so)
