I am Karthik from Chennai. I have been riding this bike regularly for the past 10 months. I can surely say that its a very bitter experience. Not just the bike, but also the poor service rendered by the Hero Honda service center in Chennai, to be more specific - VMN Motors Sembakkam, Chennai.
I just wanted to write this, because I am one of those victims who bought this poorly built bike and got harassed by those employed at Hero Honda Service center. I wanted to narrate the entire incident so that people reading this might get a glimpse of what will actually happen to them if they go into one such service station or buy this bike. I bought this bike in Sep 2012, I was actually fooled by the fake advertisements and false promises. The process of buying a bike from Hero Honda itself is a hectic and annoying process. From day 1, bike gave problems like wobbling, poor pick-up, poor mileage, etc. I mentioned those problems in all 5 free services. But, it went into deaf ears. Recently, on 10-Jan-2014, I took my bike for service to VMN Motors Sembakkam, Chennai. I reported two major problems: 1) No Pickup
2) Kick Start not working
As far as I know, it would not have taken more than 1 day to attend to these problems. Surprising, they took 3 full days to deliver. On delivery, I asked about the pick-up and kick start. The person who delivered the bike asked if I had reported those problems while leaving the bike for service. It was like a slap on my face, because, they didn't even write any of those problems that I reported. Later, from others, I came to know that it’s a kind of tactics followed at service stations to fool the customers. Anyway, it was shop closing time, and the service center guy asked me to show-up next day. I went the next day, left the bike for those same problems. Sadly, I didn't get my bike on that day. The next day I got surprised to see my bike in same condition as it was left. The service guy told me that the Clutch Plate assembly needs to be changed, and that I have to pay 2500 for that. It was really shocking. the bike has done just 10k on speedo, and clutch gone! I argued that, normally a good quality clutch plate lasts for 20k - 30k. It must be some kind of manufacturing defect(or poor free services). I asked for replacement under warranty. They literally chased me out of the service center.
I called the Hero Honda Regional office 91-44-28350974, after few calls I came to know that the Regional office people are much worse. Each time I make a call, I get the same response " We will get back to you" It's almost 25 days over, and the problems are still not resolved. Also, the warranty given is just a piece of paper and nothing more.
