I am a person who does a fair bit of analysis and research before investing on anything. I feel that I haven't gone wrong in choosing Passion Plus as my new bike.
I have made my review as fair and true as possible so that those who are planning to get this bike can have a good idea about its pros and cons.
There are 5 important factors one should consider before buying a bike.
Mileage:
Passion plus gives a mileage of 60+ under actual city conditions in Chennai.Dont get fooled by people claiming that the bike travels over 70Km/litre. The mileage of the bike is just above 60Km/litre in city conditions and a maximum of 65 to 70 in traffic free areas. This I would say is decent enough. We can give 85/100 marks in this regard.
Riding comfort:
I would bet there is no other bike in the market at present to beat this bike as far as riding comfort is concerned. The ride is very smooth and the suspension is damn good. The bike is at its best when there is a pillion rider behind. The bike has a broader wheel base and hence the bike is steady and stable and just sails on the road.It has also got adjustable suspension which can be changed to different riding conditions. The score here is 95/100.
Technology:
There would be no second opinions when speaking about the bike's technology.Honda is famous worlwide and is the pioneer in 4-stroke two wheeler technology. The bike has got the splendor's engine which has proved to be problem free for over 8 years now.The gear transmission is very smooth and there is no vibration even at higher speeds like 85Km/hr. The score here is 90/100.
Power:
This is one area where one would feel that the bike could have been better. As mentioned earlier, the bike carries the splendor's engine. But this being a heavier vehicle(116 Kg)one would really feel that the bike is a bit under powered. The engine is a 97.2 cc engine with 7.5 bhp. So this is definetely not a bike for those who like racing on roads. If a person is badly on look out for power coupled with mileage, caliber115 would be a better option. We can give a 75/100 for this bike for power.
Service:
There are a lot of Hero Honda service centers all over India and the service is also quite good. But the bike is absolutely problem free and as such there wont be any need for frequent visits to service station. Here the bike scores 90/100 marks.
Other limitations:
1.The bike is a bit tall and hence it becomes difficult for the pillion rider to climb up the bike, especially if the person is a bit short.
2.The headlights are not so powerful as one would expect ,though the company boasts of halogen lamps for headlight.
3.The bike is Marginally underpowered. 4.Spare parts are a bit costly as always the case with Hero Honda.
General informations:
Those who are less than 60Kg in weight please dont choose to buy a Passion plus as one would really feel it difficult to manage the bike's weight.Splendor would be a better choice.
The bike has got a broad and long seat and can thus have a lot of room for the pillion rider.
Though the bike is similar to splendor in a lot of ways people go for the Passion plus just for the looks that it has got.Yes the bike looks just too good and stylish.
