One of the best bikes.. Most under-rated.. 1000KM . Review on Hero Honda Hunk

I am here to write a review on my bike which I bought almost 2 months ago. I was in a great confusion to buy a bike that which one I should go for. I had Pulsar Yamaha FZ .. Suzuki GS150R , Unicorn and CBZ extreme. These are the bikes that were on the list out of which one would have been bought.

I striked out all other bikes that I did not buy due to following reasons.

-> Pulsar.. Very common.. no smoothness.. not reliable at all.

-> Yamaha.. Not a family bike. and also less mileage

-> Suzuki GS150.. Suzuki was never a very impressive brand to me.. although.. the bike is very good.. resale value.. and parts availability was major concern.

-> Unicorn -> Bike is very good.. had it earlier.. but.. still running on same old engine.. no improvements at all... the looks are too boring.. also the bike is very dull.. no excitement at all..

-> CBZ extreme -> was almost about to buy it..untill I saw HH Hunk.

Why I bought Hunk? Was cheaper than CBZ with tubeless Tyres and dual disc brakes.. and has same engine as CBZ and looks different than most of the bikes on road.

My observation so far. The bike has been awesomely smooth. Enjoy the ride every time I ride it. There are very few bikes in the market that can drive at constant 6-8 KMPH on your finger tip.. I mean literary just with your finger tips no knocking no hickups (that is the advantage of having a long stroke engine)

also has a crunchy pickup when needed and one of the silent engines available in the market.

Mileage :- It was giving me 42-45KMPL before 1st service.. but the mileage has   improved upto.. 50 - 53 KMPL in Bangalore city.. and im not one of very sane riders.. I like to keep the needle above 5K RPM.. and this is the first time in my life that any bike has given me this kind of mileage..

Reliabilty.. It is very early to say as it is just a 2 month old baby.. but I hv been riding bikes for more than 10 yrs now..  and It surely does sound like a reliable engine. considering CBZ and this bike has exactly same engine.. which CBZ has proved its reliability overtime.. and also very sure about this bike that it will be.. also it has tubeless tyres which is a very good addon on the bike like this..

Looks - I won't say it look awesome.. but yes.. it sure looks beautiful and sp. with raised back and masculine tank really looks nice. I personally like the tail lamp part of the bike which really looks good.

I am a biker kind of person who loves to go on long rides.. and with everyday riding this bike.. im gaining more confidence on this bike that it can take me anywhere I want.. ( I did not have that kind of confidence on my Bullet 350 which I had for 5 yrs).

Things I don't like:  :(

-> Headlamps: Seriously.. I guess Hero Honda guys must have forgetten that they were doing it for a 150CC bike..they must have thought that it is for some 100CC bike.. totally bad headlamps.. I guess I will change the front bulb in some time.

-> Breaks:- The breaks are good.. but only thing is that they are not in sync...  the Rear breaks has more grip than the front one.. which should be opposite.. so for somebody owning this bike for initials days can be bit risky in critical conditions.. but becomes fine after days of riding.. I guess needs some practice.. should have gone for drum brake version I guess.. but rear disc brake adds up to the look of the bike...

Kicker:- Kicker of the bike is missing... but that does not bother me much... the battery is MF and self start is very reliable.. and these days bikes are trending towards eliminating kickers from the bike.. and I don't want kids to point at me 5-6 yrs down the line and say.. OMG.. look he has got a kicker on his bike.. (that was a bad joke)

Overall.. if somebody is looking for reliable.. fuel efficient .. smooth bike.. that looks good and also not common on the road.. and also want to go on long drives occasionally... I guess this is the option should be looking for..

3000 KM UPDATE... (after 660 Kms Long drive trip).

Today I wanted to express my extreme satisfaction about the bike and the money I spent on it.

I had gone on a 660 Kms trip on the bike and came back yesterday.. Had gone with a pillion rider.

The bike performed lot more than what I expected.. I could really test the bike in every aspect..

I continuously drove it between 75 - 110 KMpH with a pillion rider.. and the bike gave me a decent mileage of aprox 50+ at that kind of speed with two people on it.

Mild vibrations are there after 85KMpH but it is nothing that cannot be ignored..

I drove it on planes. Hilly roads even on hills the bike was able to pull beautifully.. I had unicorn before and I have driven it in complete Himachal Pradesh on a 10 day trip.. but Hunk is way better in terms of performance I will admit that.

I should say that if anybody is planning to buy a bike.. and has Hunk on the list. I would strongly recommend it. I am very happy with the bike and yes.. had some bad experience with the service center guys. One email to customer care. Everything sorted out just in one day So Customer care also works really good.
