I have a terrible experience with HDFC bank to share with you.


When I take the credit card, HDFC agent came to my office and told me that they charge an annual fee of 1200 which is applicable only if we spent less than 30k a year.


Later I received the card realized that it was 2.5 lacks and it was a cheat. So I decided to cancel it after few months. So I had called customer care and asked them to close the card. They told it is done and no further charges from HDFC. But they haven't done that time. After 1 year from the time I had taken the card, they send me an SMS that says "I got a credit card bill of 1200". I called customer care and addressed the problem. They said that they have just blocked that card that time and not closed and I revoked issuing a new card, however, I need to pay annual charge of that new card which wasn't issued. Then the call was dropped. I called then again. This time it was horrible, the customer care was not addressing the call at all, sometime call is not connected, sometimes call connects and after selecting options from voice, it disconnects after a few rings, sometimes they answer the call and respond there is a downtime so you can call back later, finally after many hours of my relentless attempts it was answered and she assured me that you can go to nearest branch and submit a letter to HDFC credit department Chennai so they can revert the charge and close both the cards.


Next day, I went to the nearest branch and submitted a letter. After few days I got a message from HDFC bank, saying that they had sent a response to my letter(not mentioned how they send), nevertheless, I don't get any email, physical letter, any further SMS or anything like that.


I called customer care again, this time it wasn't the same, they stated "you can't reverse the chargers, If you have any complaints you can send our email and gave me an email address. I asked then "why did you(previous customer care) ask me to go to the bank and submit the letter?" very rude, phone hung up.


I then wrote and sent a long mail to the email given, to complaint their unfair actions, in which I attached their controversial call recordings(i recorded the calls) as a proof, photo of the letter, screenshot of their nontransparent SMS(attached). After 5 minutes I got a new mail in my inbox with the subject "MAIL DELIVERY FAILED". I also tried to contact them via online and some other ways which they mentioned in their website. Response is attached.


So guys, I recommend you to this bank.


1. If you have no value to your hard earned money to get it looted.


2. If you don't want an authentic response from your queries


3. If you have enough precious time and energy to play around.


4. If you want banking with a system of non-transparent, complex architecture.


Guys think again. Tomorrow you will be targeted.
