Just sharing my experience holding a home loan account with hdfc bank.The initial procedure to get this home loan in 2005 was a cakewalk. No hassles, no running around, no delays got my home loan approved in 1 week .Inface I have not had any issues with them till date regarding my home loan.
This is my first experience which was bad. Here is my experience how I came across a bunch of educated illiterate manager working at the koramangala 4th block bangalore branch just above coffeday.
I had gone to the hdfc home loan office koramangala 4th block Bangalore to change my correspondence address.(2 weeks back as I had shifted my residence 1st Feb 2010). I had submitted my correspondence house rental agreement photostat for that purpose and was told by a lady who collected the document that the address change would be done in 3 working days.I had submitted this document 2 weeks back. Today when I went to collect my home loan statement for IT declaration purpose at office I see my correspondence address not yet changed.
When I enquired to get it changed I was directed to a manager out there and I was surprised with the answer given by that manager as to why my correspondence address was never changed. He told me they dont accept rental agreements for correspondence address changes coz rental agreement anyone can forge however they accept only telephone bills/mobile bills for this purpose. Seems HDFC bank keep a bunch of educated illiterate fools who have no clue as to why would anyone give a fake rental agreement to get the correspondence address changed.SEcondly for any new mobile connection/phone connection the same rental agreement is used for address verification purposed. Third all banks accept rental agreement documents for address change purposes. So I do not know whether hdfc run on foolish policies or the manager sitting out there is iliterate and was some reference by an influential source to get that job and is unaware of his job. Perhaps he seemed to be too lazy to use his little fingers to type and change the address..Best part is the people working out there dont know what documents need to be submitted for correspondence address change...the lady sitting at one of the counters accepted my rental agreement for address change 2 weeks back and the manager today told me they dont accept rental agreements...perhaps policies must have change...who know policies of hdfc might me changing as we change our under clothings daily.
Also if you go on the hdfc website grievances cell you would get this number 022-28569303 to call and complaint and this number keeps ringing. As usual expected, after sales services worst with any bank so how can hdfc loose the race...
