I have had an account in HDFC bank since five years now, and not once, I repeat not once have I got good service or have been able to make a transaction easily and successfully the first time in this Bank. I have a joint account with my husband in the Bombay Branch, and I mostly try to use it in Hyderabad. The biggest obstacle that comes is, transfer of funds from Bombay to Hyderabad, it takes 15 days for this transfer. If as they claim, that its a centralized bank , why so much time is required???...
The second flaw is that they have lots of holidays and are never open when working women like us want to use it. They dont have late hours of working, Saturday they close at 1.30 and Sunday they are closed. They have all the holidays even holidays which our organisations like Wipro and Satyam dont provide, but HDFC people really njoy holidays.
Then their ATM's , they have so less in number, that everytime you have to atleast waste time standing in the line for not less than 30 minutes, and then the ATM will start giving some errors.
Recently one day, I had to make an FD of a pretty good amount, I stay around 30 kms away from this branch of HDFC, I reached exactly at 1.10 PM at their branch, as had got stuck in traffic jam, and the security literally threw me out and did not allow me to enter the bank saying that the officers do not want to meet anybody after 1.00PM.I tried telling the security that I have come from a very long distance, please allow me in , atleast let me talk to somebody but all in vain,he did not let me in at all. Mighty Officers, I have transferred all my money from HDFC to other banks like Personal Banking SBI, ICICI, where I have accounts. I found them to be better than these sadists.
From my personal experience I would not refer this bank to anybody even if it is my enemy, and the bottom line is this bank has really driven me to tears.
I have received comments that I should have resorted to Internet Banking, I would also like to clear that if we try for applying an internet Banking account, they either send you your userId very late or the password gets late and by the time you have both the account has got locked. I have applied five times in the past four years for internet banking, without any luck. I dont want them to change their rules but atleast customer satisfaction and Customer delight should be of prime importance nowadays.
