Pathetic service. Review on Hathway Packers & Movers

I used the services of Hathway packers to move household goods and car from Gurgaon to Kochi. Extremely unprofessional packer to deal with. I selected them based on good reviews and feedback but turned out to unprofessional. My rating would be 0, as there is no option for negative.

Initially, I contacted someone called Sumit(this person picked up when I dialed no listed on their site) who looked professional - but beware this person will never pick your calls once payment is done and you want to escalate something.

Their team reached my Gurgaon house on the agreed date/ time and packed/ loaded the items on 9th Jan. No issues here.

They initially mentioned transit time of around 12 days but finally took 21 days. My point of contact was one Pawan - this person will always tell lies.

About the car 1st - After taking my car he asked me to pay 3% transit insurance, which was not mentioned before. I refused and finally had to pay 1%, otherwise, they refused to carry. Pawan called me on 20 Jan - 9 pm and told me that his team will drive my car from Bangalore to Kochi. I refused and told them that I paid for transporting the car in a closed container till Kochi. They took another week to transport my car. Finally received on 1st Feb(after 22 days). Car tyre was broken and of no use and there was a big dent on the car bumper. When I raised this, they never raised with insurance. When I contacted the insurer, they mentioned the policy does not cover anything. They booked a policy namesake with a premium of around Rs 250 when I was charged around 6000. The original policy document did not mention the actual premium.

Household goods - They told me at the beginning itself to take care of unloading due to union issues in Kochi - which was fine. Pawan called me on 29th Jan and confirmed that truck reached Kochi and I can arrange for unloading on 30 Jan 10 AM. Accordingly, I arranged laborers and waited for 2 hours at my house. Pawan informed later that it will take 2 more days and truck has still not reached TN Kerala border. I ended up paying twice for unloading charges. I told him that I will arrange to unload only after physically seeing the truck. Items were broken and here also no proper insurance policy has taken while I paid for it. Also, they used an open truck while I paid for the closed container.

If you need hassle-free services, never ever go for such fraudulent companies whose only motive is to make money by providing ZERO customer service. Don't know how they got good rating online - maybe they cooked up reviews themselves.
