Sadly I am still sticking on to this pathetic service provider. Because, it has really enhanced my patience level. I purchased a hathway connection 1 year ago.
The offer which was given to me was, Free Modem, Installation+ 3 Months subscription free for Rs. 812/- [For 3 Months I can download 1.2 GB], basically the charges are Rs. 250/- Per month with taxes compounded to three mounts amount to Rs. 812/-. I was okay with everything as I don't have to purchase any modem and neither have to shell out any amount towards installation. As soon as I gave the cheque, within 3 days I got the connection up and running. Basically they have engaged me in for Patience Enhancement Course for Free. From then, you would taught various levels listed below:
1) Slow Connection.
2) Cable Fault.
3) Night Time Disconnection [After 10 PM even when you are browsing your connection will be terminated].
4) Not giving connection even after payment.
5) Whenever you call the service department it would be engaged or ringing, if somebody picks up Bingo. You have hit the jackpot.
6) Even you hit the jackpot, your queries will not be sorted out.
7) Email anybody, no body replies.
Likewise the course levels are being added now and then. What they promise is upto 256 Kbps but, the connection has never been able to touch even 40 Kbps. Average speed would be somewhere around 20-40 always. Some times even slower than that. Constantly checking on this issue with the service people pushed me to the height of frustration. So, then I decided to write to Hathway CEO, after this I got few people coming to my house and servicing the modem, changing the cable etc., and communicating with each other in all technical jargons. But, at the end the speed remains the same. Only thing is I got some attention from the service department. To be honest, customer satisifaction is not their motto, but they do their work in their own pace. If a complaint has been posted or informed, it will be taken care automatically, but the time period which takes to do is not acceptable. As I am using this for home purpose. I am not affected worsely.
To conclude, Hathway does delivers internet to your doorsteps with poor speed and service levels.

My Hathway Connection was non-functional from 15th July 2009, hence I tried calling the Customer Care Centre many-a-times, however, I couldn't able to get connected even a single time. Later, I had sent an email to the customer care centre from my office. But, there was no reply, by this time the day's of Internet Blackout was 8 days. Later, I sent an email to the Nodal Officer, keeping Hathway CEO in CC with all proofs. Now, I got a call from one of the CSE, asking me to surrender the Modem and get the refund back. When, I asked the reason, the CSE told that due to some miscreants, who are cutting all the Hathway cables in Chennai, they are unable to run the business any more @ Chennai. Hence, they have decided to close all the connections and refund the amount within 15 days. Today, I have surrendered my Modem and waiting for the refund check.
Thus ended the story of Hathway in Chennai. This real-life story is applicable for Hathway Customers Chennai. But, think about the power, which they have to fight against these miscreants, so history may repeat @ other regions too, before that wake-up Hathway Customers.*
