It cant get better than this. The latest in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and
The Goblet of Fire, is certainly the best of all the previous movies. And why shouldn't it be? After all the fourth book is the best so far. They say movie adaptation of novels is the most difficult task. It becomes ever so difficult to squeeze this lengthy novel into one movie. But the director Mike Newell seems to have done his homework well. The result...An excellent eye-treat for all the Potter Fans.
Harry,Ron and Hermione are into the fourth year at Hogwards. This year promises to be the best, for The TriWizarding Tournament is going to be held in Hogwards. The winner of this prestigious tournament would get eternal glory. But there is a catch here. Although the tournament forbids underage Wizards and Witches to participate....Harry finds his name in the magical Goblet as one of the contestants. Could be a trap by Lord Voldermort and his followers........HEY WAIT A MINUTE! THIS REVIEW IS NOT ON THE BOOK. OOOPS I FORGOT! WELL LETS CONCENTRATE ON ITS MOVIE ADAPTATION THEN....
HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE: THE MOVIE:
I was looking forward to seeing this movie, having read all the Potter books. Naturally I went to the cinema hall with a lot of expectations. And I have seen the movie twice already. Need I say more how good it is? The movie starts off really well with Lord Voldermort and some of his death eaters planning to kill Harry. The director has been able to maintain the pace of the movie well. But for the ones who haven't read any of the books or watched any of the prequels....GOF can be far more confusing. The whole relevance of Qudditch World Cup and the attack by death-eaters wasn't clear in the movie. Also the movie ignores many small incidences that take place in the novel. That is where the book scores. I mean the pleasure it gives to read the minutest details is far better than seeing an extravagant screenplay.
But the movie is very very well made nonetheless. I am sure Mike must have had his reasons to do away with unnecessary details. If you feel lost in the midst, don't worry. The movie takes a detour from the book many times. But relax.....Enjoy the graphics and the magical sequences. The best part was offcourse the TriWizarding Tournament. All the three tasks were potrayed picture perfect. I mean the visual effects are mind blowing. Especially the stadium of Quidditch World cup and the second task of the TriWizrading tournament where the contestants have to rescue their most loved treasures from the bottom of a lake. Absolutely worth your money to watch these and many such fantastic scenes.
When we talk about the screen adaptation of a novel one must appreciate the effort the film-makers need to put in. The last scene of the movie....The dual between Harry and Lord Voldermort seems to be taken word to word from the book. Hats off to the director for doing complete justice to this particular scene if not all.
Daniel Radcliff:Ok, he might have rusted his acting skills a bit but I still cannot imagine anyone else playing Harry other than him.
Emma Watson:She looks stunningly beautiful in this movie. She hasn't got much magic to do and I couldn't imagine Hermione without her wand!!! But nowhere in the movie she is shown casting any spells. All she does is get angry with Ron and Harry and get all mushy and stuff with Viktor Krum!! Watch out for her in the Yule Ball. She might just take your breath away. Phew!!!
Rupert Grint: He plays the character of Ron almost flawlessly. He's a superb actor and looks great throughout movie.
Robert PattinsonThe only waste was Robert Pattinson who plays 'Oh-so- handsome' Cedric. No denying the fact that Robert was the perfect choice for this role. He's so Handsome. But I think he should have been given more role and more dailouges to deliver.
The Weasly Twins: The twins have grown from funny looking teenage guys into handsome young men. They provide the much needed humour in an otherwise dark movie.
Apart from the three main characters all others play their role really well. Especially Mad Eye Moody. I jumped out of my chair when he appeared on the screen for the first time. And of course there is DumbleDore....who didn't look one bit like the Dumbledore of the book. Whoever casted Michael Gambon in this role?
Overall:I'll suggest people to first get themselves acquainted with the first three movies or books so as to enjoy this one.But as I mentioned earlier, it's not that important. After all movies are meant for entertainment and entertainment is what you will get after seeing Goblet of Fire. From the visually stunning effects to the darker plot, this one is ought to give you value for your money. So what are you thinking? Get that broom and fly to the magical world of Harry Potter...
Note:Plzz watch the movie in theatre only. Its indeed a must see in theatres
