I am a die hard fan of Siddharth Randeria.I have watched almost all his gujarati plays.Even I enjoyed his performance in hindi movie named Shortcut. He had a small cameo in that movie.
This movie is based on one of his plays Gujjubhai e gam gajavyu.
I loved this play.>I have watched this play for more than 4 times.It's there on you tube and available for free to watch. Just search in there and You should get it. In this movie Siddharth randeria(Gujjubhai) is a business man and he wants his daughter to marry a nice gujju person who can take care of his family business and his daughter and who will stay in his home just like a GHAR JAMAI.
He has this type of character in his office and he wants that person to act in such a manner that, everyone agrees with gujju bhai.
Original play has many such one liner jokes that, you can't stop laughing on them, where in movie even siddharth could nt make other laugh.
Songs were sung by Divya Kumar, Parth Oza, Advait Nemlekar, Vibha Saraf, Ketan Singh, Mansheel Gujral, Shikha Jain. Music and Background Score was composed by Parth Bharat Thakkar and additional music is by Advait Nemlekar. The soundtrack was launched at Ahmedabad.
Even comedy punches are not good and lacks meaning in it. Editing is not done properly. The movie was release in gujarat and maharashtra and got some positive reviews. But I guess people who watched movie and liked it, must have not seen the original play.
Mid day stated that, The film appeals to its target audience because it has everything they expect from Gujjubhai, and in spite of the crazy goings on, there is no overacting and very little slapstick. Further, it got positive reviews from Desh Gujarat(a local news paper), Siddharth Randeria's Gujjubhai the great fully entertains with lots of laugh out loud moments throughout the film.
Nothing new has been given by Sidhdharthbhai in this movie. just a worst remake of "Gujjubhai e gam gajavyu". Cinematography and camera Ishan did not do any good. He is an amateur short film director. People did watch this due to Siddharth.
So I can say it is very disappointing. not worth watching, better to watch original play on you tube. You can also watch all plays in Gujjubhai series on Sheemaroo Gujarati - a you tube channel. recently they uploaded a new play Gujjubhai ni Golmal.
