When we think of meeting friends for a small informal chitchat or some private discussions we think of going out to a place which offers privacy, some good stuff to sip & munch and we get hooked to a particular place because of it’s “Likeability”
“Likeability” is a result of few factors; You connect to this place, you connect to the ambiance, you develop a taste for the food & beverages the place offers, Serving staff is more like pals than professional, undisturbed time and soothing music (soothing and not noisy)
Well, I have discovered one such informal place which attracts me everytime I pass through it.
Welcome to Grapevine Café located on Baner- Pashan Link road in upcoming Baner, Pune.
Once while driving down towards home I thought of dropping in and refreshing myself with some coffee etc.
We (me, my wife & my daughter) entered this small place and loved the aroma of coffee it had.
We pulled chairs, sat and started looking around. I will give some details about this place which I really liked.
Ambiance:
This place is vibrant yet soothing with colour scheme not too loud yet classy. The stylish illustration & picture frames were different. A counter with all fresh eatables and beverages. Table & chair too were designed differently. There were two levels - one outside, open air and one inside with AC.
I instantly connected to this place. There was something about this place.
Menu: There were shelves displaying mouth-watering cakes, pastries, sandwiches, rolls, muffins, cookies, juices, chocolates, candies, garlic breads and much more. Other shelf for fresh breads, buns and other confectionery items. Offers a variety of tea, coffee and beverages.
Snacks & sips:
We felt hungry just by looking at the items displayed and decided to try many dishes. First we ordered a veggie roll, Chocolate muffins, garlic bread, honeycrumbs and sandwiches.
To our surprise, the stuff was better as compared to some places in upmarket “KoregaonPark”.
After this good experience we decided to try out beverages. I ordered Cold coffee with ice-cream and chocolate sauce with choco strings while my wife preferred green tea. My daughter wanted Iced tea and finally we ordered the stuff.
Cold coffee was excellent. My wife loved Green tea and daughter freaked on honey mix iced tea.
Service & pricing:
Service was prompt and good. The waiter told us “Sir, Just enjoy, Call me for anything you want and take your time. Such behavior gives you a king of assurance that if you don’t want to order lots of snacks, just have a tea or coffee. Prices too are good as compared to CCD or Barista etc.
Staff:
My daughter asked for Hot chocolate muffin. The chef took the piece and kept in the microwave to heat it up. It was served in 3 mins. I thought of experimenting and enquired weather can we get a scoop of vanilla ice-cream over hot muffin. The guy took the muffin back, not only put a nice big scoop of ice-cream on it but decorated it too with chocolate syrup. My 5 year old daughter was more than thrilled and wiped the plate in no time. What I liked was the service with delight which I didn't see in a big place like Foodlink court.
The best part was when we asked for the bill. They did not charge for the ice-cream and choco syrup. Now I always prefer to go to this place with friends of a quick bite on weekends.
Another important observation is I have never seed any shady crowd there.
Do try this place if you are in pune.
