Worth staying!!! Excellent. Review on Grand View Hotel, Dalhousie

Grand View is a cool place to stay. The interior is very different from other 3-5 star hotels... The flooring, doors, etc are wooden... it reminds you of the movie ’1942 a love story’.

As you can see in the pic the rooms are build side-by-side. There is open space in front of the house. The Swing in the lawn attracts kids very much.

The room service is very good.... They offer welcome drink until u tell them ’Ok ..get it for us’.. they keep calling for the same. But its a good service.

Quality of food is excellent... the breakfast is so healthy and yummy.... it is simply great!!

Two things I liked about the Hotel are:

1. Every alternate evening there is a small born-fire/dance party organized by the management. It includes complementary food like Chaat (pani-puri), a Soup (sweet-corn, etc) and a Starter (hara-bhara kabab). Once the guests are done with the starters.. they are invited to play games like Housie (tambola) or any other game. When I had been there.. I had played Housie .. Small prizes are also given to the winners of those games.. (my bad luck... I dint win).

   
   




2. The Management.... The entire Hotel is managed by a Lady (i forgot her name)... Earlier her husband used to manage it, but after him she became the owner and manages the hotel very well.

   
   

She is the one who organizes all the above mentioned games,dance parties and all... She is present for these events and the main host of all... Sometimes she herself serves the starters and all. She is very down-to-earth types and she can talk to guests for hours.... She is very enthusiastic and ensures that her guests don’t feel bored whilst their stay...

The only drawback is that it is at a great height so involves lot of traveling.... that may waste time...

But overall it is good place to stay..... worth staying for few days....
