I have been using the internet for the last 3 years and in the last 3 years Google has certainly emerged as the best search engine around.
Though very simple in its look and feel, it is a very powerful one.You most often get whatever you are searching for on the very first try. It has a knack for filtering
out all the crap and returning whatever you want. If you enter a wrong spelling it checks out asking if you meant ''this''. The search engine keeps updating itself
very often giving accurate results. The number of not found pages are very less when compared to other search engines. It also gives you dictionary definitions of
search words.
The amazing thing about this search engine is that you can refer to the cached version of the link that google had saved earlier. More often than not, this by itself gives you the desired information you are searching for.
Another amazing thing is its image search. Even this is one of the best that is around. Try out giving an image search. You definitely get the image you are searching for.
You can either post to usenet through google or try a search at google groups. It searches messages listed far back in 1997 and 1998.
Google search results now also includes Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. Although PDF files aren't as abundant as HTML files, they often contain high-quality information that's unavailable elsewhere. These files are very rich in content. You can also find out people linking to your site by giving a search for eg. give a search for ''link: http://www.google.com'' to see who all are linking to
google.
What more? There are more than 10 search engines whose results are being powered by Google. Even Yahoo's web page results are powered by Google. You can also check out on the Google Directory results which are powered by dmoz.
