When I first started using the internet the search engine I was using was 'Excite'. It was slow, uninformative (well, I didn't realise this) and downright lazy. I then found Google, it was fast, found a lot more sites and was prepared to give you plenty of help if you needed it. I cannot imagine life without it.
I have compared it to many other search engines, excite, ask jeeves etc, and none of them ever come close to Google. In terms of customer help if it is not working properly, the advanced search, it is second to none.
If anybody out there is thinking about launching a search engine, then look at Google for ideas. You may be able to come close but I don't think that it will be as good.
