Below is my own personal experience. Not necessary to be inline with other passangers. Therefore, judgement to be made based on own analysis.
I am a frequent flyer I use to book on different travel sites and with individual airline sites aswel.
I have booked a ticket from MAA-DXB-MAA with booking ID TUA55R6Z4. This is a round trip On 13-Jun-17 and 31-Aug-17.
Due to uncertain reason relating to my visa arrival, I requested the travel agent to re-schedule the ticket. They were not able to reschedule the ticket, whereas cancel and rebooking was an option. if I had cancelled, the ticket, I would get very less refund. Therefore, I did not utilise the first leg of the ticket from Chennai to Dubai and Travelled on 18-Jun-2017 by booking in another airline from the same travel agent.
The secong leg of the ticket is still open and website shows as if I have travelled the first leg of the ticket. I used this ticket for OK to board after 18-Jun-2017, which is after the scheduled travel date of the above ticket. Latter without my knowledge, the travel agent has reportedly cancelled the ticket.
I am travelling with my family with an infant. As they have not given me any communication relating to cancellation, I was stranded helpless. They did not help me even after my repeated request, they did not reschedule to subesequent date also.
Summary:
Go ibibo can not reschedule a ticket when you approach for reschedule. They will advise to cancell and rebook.
The Airline wont help if you are booking through a travel agent.
Goibibo, tells they dont cancell a ticket, and a ticket is automatic cancelled, if one leg of journey is not made. Agreed to this point. The air line says, the travel agent can reissue the ticket with some penalty/fine. GO ibibo does not do that either leaving the passangers stranded. Not sure, if they sell the ticket for double revenue.
We have approached Goibibo before departure for reschedule. Goibibo did not do this.
