The movie is a wonderful sequel of Godfather. The story of the movie is like this. It starts with Michael Corleone's(Al Pacino) son in a church and then the screen takes back to Michael's father; Vito Corleone's childhood. Vito Andolini aka Vito Corleone, his parents and a brother lived in Corleone,Sicily. His father is killed for angering a local Don and Vito’s brother takes off to get revenge on the Don’s men and is killed during his father’s funeral. The mother takes Michael and approaches the Don and asks to spare him. (Doesn't it remind you of a typical ''Thakur'' hindi movie) The Don refuses, but the mother succeeds in saving him. Vito is taken out of the town and flees to USA. There is a realistic portrayal of the Immigration & Naturalisation Service (It is no different even today). The next we see is Robert DeNiro as grown-up Vito who is a straight-forward man, so naïve that he becomes an unwitting accomplice to a carpet theft. He, however, is forced by circumstances to kill the local Don Fagucci who is also an Italian, but bullies Italians. Well, from there starts the saga of the Corleone family.

Coming back to Michael’s world, an attempt is made on his life, but he moves on to Cuban business with Hyman Roth - a Jewish Businessman, but pulls back when he sees the Cuban rebels first-hand. This angers Roth who orders him to hand over the money. Michael sends his body-guard to finish off Roth, but is unsuccessful two times. However, on the New Year party, Cuba is taken over by the Communists and Michael is proven right. Meanwhile back at home, attempt is made on an old-time Corleone – Frank Pentangeli – by accomplices of Roth. Pentangeli with his associate takes off to the FBI and promises to tell it all before a Senate committee. Michael makes a wise move in bringing Pentageli’s brother for the hearing and escapes it. In the end Michael finishes off all his enemies – Roth who returns in disgrace and Pentangeli who commits suicide.

The most poignant scene is the when Michael discovers the betrayal of Freddo, his older brother, for power. It was he who arranged for Michael to be shot at his own house. He is also done away with.

The sequel is as good as the first movie. Robert De Niro does his part as young Vito Corleone, Sr. The husky voice of Marlon Brando from the orginal is well-replicated for him.
