I had an advertisement on my email from GOBOL about the sale of Xiaomi MI 4i(Snapdragon 615, 2 GB RAM 16 GB model)
The link took me to the page of the offer. There they mentioned the MRP of the product to be Rs 19, 999(Nineteen thousand nine hundred ninety mine only) and selling the factory second model at Rs 11249. Since they have deliberately given a misrepresenting MRP of Rs 19999 hence at Rs 11249, hence they claim a discount or Rs 8750 about 44% but the actual difference from the MRP(highest official price) till now is Rs 13999 hence the discount is Rs 2750 or about 20%
Xiaomi MI 4i(Snapdragon 615) was introduced in India a few months ago, and I was one of the first purchaser of the phone and its price was Rs 13999. The 16 GB model did not even reach Rs 14000.
Xiaomi has similar phone called Xiaomi MI 4 which was priced at Rs 19999 but that is superior model with Snapdragon 801 processor and 3 GB RAM. That was flagship model.
I did point out the mistake/error to Gobol people hoping they will correct but to my surprise they did in a way justify the deliberately mentioned fake MRP and they replied as
Quote:
Dear Customer,
Refer to your mail below, we request you to consider the price mentioned on the product on which we are selling the product, that is the final price for the product.
In case of any further assistance or clarification on this issue, please reply back to this email or call on our toll free number i.e. 18004193283.

I do not know if there is a forum where such misleading advertisements of sales are looked into or if there is an advertisement standards and if its applicable to such websites. So people when you buy from Gobol, make sure that you know what is the actual MRP of the product rather than be fooled by the "fantastic discount" which is never there.
BTW the present MRP of a new box packed MI 4i is Rs 12999 with a year of warranty whereas the "Factory seconds" offers 6 month warranty at discount of just Rs 1750
13.5% discount.
