I have been to Goa with friends(of course, you have to go there only with friends, not family). It is a city that never sleeps. We went there at 3 a.m. and still were easily able to find a cozy home stay at a throwaway price(it was off season).
2 days we spent there seeing Portuguese fort, 5 or 6 beaches like Candolim, Vella Goa(Old Goa), sprawling estates of film stars and underworld dons, a central jail, a grand church with a 500-year-old mummy, and first time in my life, I went to a pub, saw live dancing girls.
The bonanza for alcoholics is liquor is available at half the prices.
During season, they say Goa is crowded and difficult to find a stay, but since it was November, we effortlessly got accommodation.
Local cops will be roaming streets and beaches to ward off miscreants and safeguard decent citizens, perhaps due to huge number of foreigners being around and some thug might get naughty.!
