I am using Gmail since 2002. Earlier I didn't use it much as I have yahoo also and Yahoo was used by me the most.
Slowly I started using Gmail and I was overwhelmed by the features og Gmail. Gmail rocks.
Features Of Gmail
Pretty good storage capacity. You don't need to delete your mails.
Mail Filtering. All the SPAM mails are auto directed to your junk mail folder so you don't have to worry about them at All. No more mails where in someone from an African Bank or a soldier from Iraq claims to award you millions of dollars.
You can chat with your friends instantly without using GTalk. All the chat conversations can be saved in Chat Folder. This is optional. You can opt to either save or don't save them option.
It's very easy to use your G-Mail using Outlook. All you use to do it go to setting and change your POP3 setting to allows Outlook to communicate with Gmail.
You can instantly create folders to keep your mails.
You can add star to a mail by clicking on the star which is at the left side of mail heading. All starred mails can be seen afterward with single click of mouse.
Another feature of Gmail wherein Gmail automatically mark some of your messages as Important as per your previous communications with the sender.
You can mark any mail Unread. You can use this facility when you wish to review a mail afterwards.
With a single click of mouse you can go to Orkut a/c or Google+ a/c without opening the other websites in different windows. It saves a lot of time.
Google Search option is also provided in Gmail so you can search the web while using your Gmail. No need to open another window.
Searching your mails is real easy in Gmail. Just type some keywords to search the mails. This feature not only looks for the heading but also look inside the body of your mail.
In slow connections Gmail can be opened in standard view i.e most of its functionalities are blocked but you can still view and send E-mails.
