Hi!
Gmail is very sophisticated and proprietary. Gmail's very heavy to use on a weak internet connection and it's very hard learn all it's setting and make it behave as you want. It does few things and just to make it stop doing things you have to learn tutorials.
#1. Help Functionality: Help functionality is not helpful. I for my office have an email id and all staff member knows the password. 1 day someone new in team changed the password and then that guy forgot it. Now we did all to recover from that situation and we wrote to Google and we got no help at all. Finally somehow we the same guy tried some password and it worked we want to set the same old password but Gmail doesn't allow you to do this. You cannot repeat 99 old password in Gmail. Only when you have changed your password 99 times then only you can change your password same as it was the first time that you had. This's ridiculous. Gmail help team is not responsive and till today I have not got any response from them for that occurrence. #2. User friendly: It's not at all user friendly. Archive feature is something I do not understand till today where that emails goes and store. Only when I search with the content then only I find those email other than this I could see those email in any label.
#3. Easy of Installation: On Internet you have to open it a browser and you'll get the best experience of Gmail when you use Google Chrome. This make is not very open. As automatic content translate feature is not enabled in Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer but this feature only comes when you opens it using Google Chrome. On Android it occupies hefty space and if you have many Gmail account then you cannot remove any particular account that you do not need afterward directly from Gmail settings. This means you can add accounts but cannot delete from Gmail App itself. For this you have to have to go in main setting and delete accounts that you do not need. This app cannot be moved to external SD card this very bad development from Google as an Email App has lots of data and such hefty data should not sit on phone internal memory.
#4. Feature/Functions: Google want many things but they do not think global. Gmail is very heavy and doesn't open fast on 2G Mobile network. You cannot write and read an email at once on Gmail and when you have to answer all things then you have problem when you do this from your phone. The Gmail App does not have this feature. Functions like Google Docs doesn't work on Gmail App.
#5. Service & Support: Google doesn't respond to you personally for issues with email accounts and they do not provide recovery. They have automated and they believe that user gets best response from that.
I do not recommend Gmail, it's not encrypted also and for such an email it is too slow also. Even the encrypted email doesn't take this much time to load in a browser on computer or on phone.
