Perfect Gifting Product. Review on Giftmate

Recently I have been gifted a GiftMate Voucher worth Rs. 200/- by Contest2win.com, I thought it would be more appropriate to share my experience with Giftmate here with MS-Users. GiftMate is a mobile gifting service offered by PayMate, GiftMate is a Gift voucher on the mobile which can be sent instantly to any mobile in India and can be used to pay at retail and online merchants. One can pay, Utility Bills, Shop Online, Buy Movie & Flight Tickets, Prepaid Mobile Re-Charge and Shop at Affiliate Retail Merchants. One can gift this voucher to any mobile moreover, this can be topped-up by the user or the gifting person.

I received the giftmate voucher through an SMS and a detailed E-Mail along with a presentation on how to use that. It was so easy to Pay through mobile. Let me detail the procedure for MS-Users. Go to an online store like rediff; futurebazaar; sify etc., choose a product, Proceed to Payment Gateway, Choose PayMate, you will now be shown a screen with Product ID, Amount, IVR Method & your Mobile Number has to be entered by you, if things shown are right. As soon as you enter this, you will receive a phone call, which is automated, IVR [Integrated Voice Response] system, wherein the voice informs you about the purchase amount and requests you to punch in the PIN No. Once you enter the proper PIN, your payment is made and a Payment Confirmation SMS is sent to your mobile number.

I feel this is more appropriate for Online purchases, as one doesn't have to risk giving his/her Debit/Credit Card information online. Instead, top-up your mobile number with the amount that you need to spend; shop & execute payment through mobile. Few Pros: 1) Can be used for bill payments, shopping & online purchases 2) Can be sent instantly to any mobile in India 3) Voucher can be personalized with a special message 4) Can be bought in any denomination 5) Balance can be carried forward for next purchase 6) PIN authorization for added security 7) Voucher balance and usage statements online Few Cons: 1) You will receive an automated IVR immediately once the online or retail payment is made, in case if you don't have your mobile with you, the IVR tries few more times.

[After, which what happens in these situations an R&D has to be done] 2) If you use this in retail shops and you don't get the IVR call from PayMate/Giftmate due to reasons like Network Jam, Signal Weak, Battery Charge down etc., [What happens in these situations an R&D has to be done] Regards, Gokulavan
