I have to admit I am not a drinker. In fact, I have never had a drink. So can I truly write about a topic that I have no experience? I honestly believe the answer is yes!
What exactly is a hangover? It is the body's reaction to the excess of alcohol. Notice the word'excess' which by definition means'too much.' When one has a hangover, the body is reacting to the toxins associated with drug abuse. Yes, alcohol is a drug and this includes beer. So what is the cure? Moderation! Very few people, if any, suffered a hangover by having a glass of wine with dinner or a mixed drink at a social. Those who suffer are those who get drunk.
When getting drunk, the body's functions deteriorate. Reflexes are slowed. Speech can be slurred. Mental capacity can diminish. A hangover is the body's natural reaction to the alterations caused by drinking. To counteract this two aspirins and a glass of cold milk may offer some relief. Taking another drink of alcohol is not a solution. It could be an addiction!
If you are suffering from hangovers on a regular basis, there is a good chance you have a problem. Seek help and try to get your life back on the right track! If you don't drink don't start. If you do, drink in moderation and hangovers will not be a problem.
