Not that I am a safety expert for you to consider my views seriously, just common sense / bad experience will tell you I am right. Anyway you need not be an expert to be safe, do you?
Do You Care?
Yes. Do you care for others when u are driving. Do you care for one of the most endangered species, the Pedestrians, closely competed by 2 Wheeler astronauts. If not, it?s high time you start caring for them. Pedestrians, as the book says have the right of way(Sure, they should add in the manual about jaywalking, phone walking, smoke walking, gossip walking and lots of other varieties of walking) and whether we like it or not, they have it. When it comes to argument, pedestrians always win(ie if they survive your rash driving).
Do you use Glaring high beam headlights or that stupid blue dot on your registration plate. It creates absolute havoc. Please don?t use them. Use High beam only if its required. If you are blind enough to think that you cannot see without a glaring headlight, you don?t deserve to drive
Do you honk a lot and that too musical honking? Please show your musical skill somewhere else.
Are You Angry?
There are lots of ways to vent out your anger
Break your TV(You will see the positive effects of anger later)
Scream inside your house in your mind
Drink Lots of water
Listen to music, close you eyes for 2 minutes
Do anything but drive.
Common Sense
Public Roads are not meant for Racing. You have separate tracks for them. Show your speed skills there and crash if you want without hurting anybody except you physically and your near and dear ones emotionally.
Don?t care what others will think about you if a safe and sane driver, because they are not thinking about you. You may not be a cool person if you drive within your limitations; sure you are a mature person.
Don?t overtake from left(Left side driving countries)
Don?t overtake from right(Right side driving countries)
Don?t drink and drive. You crash and die it?s your responsibility, but save others from your stupid idea.
Drive Within your limitations. You are not required to prove anything to anybody.
Don?t overload your vehicle.
Maintain Good tire pressures.
Maintain your vehicle well. Get it serviced regularly.
Brakes not working. Shift to lower gear and take your legs off the clutch and accelerator.
Drive in a relaxed frame of mind.
Don?t be in a hurry. You can save that 5 minutes by cutting off one coffee break / smoking break or go to sleep 5 minutes later.
Well lots more to write. I don?t intend to go to comments section. That is for you to do.
Be a sane driver. You will be surprised to know that you are actually a safe driver
too.
